Why all the shaky distracting images?!?!?! It is as if you want to distract or distort the truth rather than convey clarity. Stop that. It is insulting and harmful. I feel like I've been beaten up and drugged while watching your stuff. I can't even get past it. I ended up just listening and turned the screen away. Stuttered visuals over and over feel like you are being hit over and over and over and over. Stop it. Stop it. Stop it. Why abuse your viewer? Similarly, the background music does not have a steady flow, instead it is stuttered rhythm and distracting. I had to turn the whole thing off. I feel harmed by your video and have given it a thumbs down.

Hobbs would be disgusted by a world that governs it's people the way ours does. No social contact, only tyranny vs the individual

What an even-handed tiny video on Kapital! God forbid that there was any spice of personal or even bigger insight involved in this! This is the greatest resource to get to know Marx people. Good enough to approve all imperialistic thoughts you have already.

I don’t think Locke would be that thrilled that his treaties are not being followed today… we have a tyrannical Goverment in bed with foreign powers today, doing NOTHING that the people want… giving our tax payer dollars to countrys that hate us… and we are passive about it 🤬🤬🤬he must be turning in his grave !!!

I think Confucius was a better spiritual teacher and guide than JESUS!

There is a bit of an afterlife in Confucianism, in that they practice ancestor worship. That would imply a belief in an afterlife.
@clyou
@clyou Жыл бұрын
If you worship your ancestors, doesn't that imply the opposite? Because they are not here anymore, you remember them through the worshipping rites.
@splashenful
@splashenful Жыл бұрын
@@clyou To give worship means that you believe in the existence of the One or ones that you are offering it. It is one thing to remember people. It is another to give worship.

Yes, you are absolutely right. My bad. when I saw "afterlife", somehow I was thinking about reincarnation. As a kid when we worshipped our ancestors, I often thought of them as some sort of spirits. Not sure if you know. The kind of paper we burn as an offering to our ancestors is the same kind as the one we burn for the spirits/ghosts. And I think Confucius did mention ghost in the Analects, too. So again, my apology.
@splashenful

@@clyou Yeah, a lot of religions - perhaps most religions - believe in reincarnation. Christianity does not. It is one of the very few that does not.

Well, it’s led to the most amazing civilization ever. You writing this on a glowing device is testament to that fact. The invisible hand leads to a tide that raises most every ship. Even our poorest now in the US tend to have more than the richest a few generations ago. And the alternative is r what? A command society? Where someone else dictates what you much do?

Adam Smith used the word 'education' 80 times in Wealth of Nations. If you search it for 'and account' you will find he wrote, "read, write, and account" multiple times. Never "read, write and arithmetic". In 1790 50% of Brits were illiterate. Making accounting mandatory in the schools for most kids would have been impossible. The United States could have done it since Sputnik. When do economists ever suggest that? Smith never saw planned obsolescence and television commercials. Economists can understand pins. I asked a PhD economist from the University of Chicago to explain how an automobile engine worked. He could not even start.

Perhaps you could do one of these on Marx's other influential work "Zur Judenfrage" (On the Jewish Question)? Those ideas were certainly influential in the 20th Century, particularly in his Fatherland.

Locke would be appalled by present day political discourse in America, and disheartened by the authoritarian voices that now dominate certain political factions.

I am going to order these treatises and read them. I was always under the impression that Locke was a minarchist and believed in a strong curtailing of state authority. I don't think he would approve of a world governing body where there is no where to run for the oppressed.
