When I was young, I remember encountering this among my older (and cooler) cousin’s model collection along with MAD magazine and wacky packs. Very counter culture.l. I need to pick one of these up!

wOw!...What "words of wisdom were said!"..."Love is Video!" Hi, my name Matt been building plastic kits before I was 6yrs now I'am 65yrs young. True, growing in the 60's as well 70's the Aurora Plastics Company was my fav. model company..."Best Models In The World!" at that time. Superman I've build this kit many time over. Starting, again with some orig. Aurora parts other parts by Monogram and Revell. Your video is a great help in helping me getting starting on this "Classic" kit. I, agree those "Old' Aurora kits are special to my heart as well. Building, as a child opening the box for the first... the smell of plastic for the first time, that glue on my hands; "Help Mom!" and the paint was very were but not on the model itself...O' NO! (Laugh!) "Please Hold On To That Kit!"..."The POWER Of That Toy (i.e Plastic Model Kit) Will Live In Your Heart...FOREVER!" M.S.Holder (i.e creaturman)

Nice build. I like the wide range of model types you build, which is like myself, just about anything, but more on the weird side. I have one Silly Surfer in my stash (The Woody) but have built many of the similar Weird-Ohs. I'll be checking out more of your videos in the next few days. Now Subbed.

The engine wiring looks fake and not realistic!!!
@bmck-8400Ай бұрын
@@flyboyadventures777 I did a terrible job on it and it fell apart. I had nothing but issues. I am not even sure why I did the wiring the way did because it was to stiff . Sometimes I try stuff and it fails… I even left parts off. All that chrome gave me problems. I should pull the video but I learned a few things from it.

Another great build & paint. I remember the original Aurora monster kits were not bagged but the later glow versions were. Model car kits from Mpc & Amt were also bagged. I wish that someone would remake the 4 Lindberg monster kits that came out in 1965 Krimson Terror, Mad Mangler, Green Ghoul, & Kreeping Krusher. Simple 2 piece kits with a tuft of fake hair. I have seen resin copies but would much rather have them in styrine.

Many thanks to Atlantis for doing these reissues. I believe they are the owners of Megahobby. Building their kits that I did when I was a child. Wolfman, Mummy, Phantom of the Opera, Saber Tooth Tiger.are next.Very nice build & paint on this one.

Great kit in its time. Hopefully , Atlantis model co. Or Revell GmbH, whomever has the molds/tooling, decide to reissue this subject. There are ,however, new renditions available. 5:42

@@William-l7z I have the Pegasus Tarzan… it’s pretty cool. It needs to be air brushed and just very old school so I’m not sure how good I could do with it . I know some of the Aurora molds have been lost. I don’t know which ones. The molds seem to have passed through just about every major companies hands. I think they are floating between three or for right now. There are a bunch of nice recent kits but those old Aurora are really special. I’m grateful for all the re-releases from the old molds .

Where can you buy the model kits? And how much? In Los Angeles, CA. Thank you.
@bmck-8400Ай бұрын
@@mariagreen1956 I’m not sure which ones are still available. I’ve not seen Dracula or Frankenstein in quite a while. The Creature from Black Lagoon has had recent re-release as have the Wolfman and Mummy. Can always start with Amazon or on-line hobby shops. There is always E-Bay but vintage kits are expensive. I never buy or build vintage. It’s all about the license from Universal Studios. It seems the old Aurora molds are being used by several different companies. I’ve noticed that it’s usually short runs…when they are gone they are gone.

@bmck-84002 ай бұрын
In the box with the instructions… it’s not a certificate. Looking at it again it was an order form for a 1/4 scale cold cast porcelain sculpture. I have never seen it. I couldn’t find one posted anywhere as well. All I have is the plastic model kit.
@richardthomas7542 ай бұрын
Unless I’m mistaken the Mummy you are showing is the Lon Chaney Jr. version. The face of your model shows one eye is blind. Also the right hand is horribly damaged. No noticeable fingers and the arm itself is being held close to his body as though injured. All markers of the Lon Chaney Jr. Mummy. Lon’s Mummy was not original to him. That character was originally portrayed by Captain Marvel actor, Tom Tyler. Lon continued in the remaining films.

@@mfmayes I think Chaney was in the wraps all the time… he was really great…having played Wolf Man, Mummy, Frankenstein monster, and Count Dracula. When Boris Karloff died lots of the newspapers used Chaney in the Monster make up as the picture of Boris… though even in the make up they looked very different. I to this day believe Chaney has been the only actor to portray the tragedy of the wolf man correctly… I’ve always seen it as a tragedy . Thank you for watching.
