WTF? Runtime of my vhs(maybe that’s the problem?) is 2hr 59 min but commentary Track only 2 hr 40 min. You usually hear dialogue from the movie and you have to keep pausing so the movie can catch up. I was so psyched to listen to Scorsese, etc. but if I have to keep adjusting this movie, it’s not worth it! Hopefully, I can find another commentary Check on here for casino

Interesting they had an interview in Spanish with guest speaking Italian. I’m assuming it was for a Spanish TV station, and I wonder if it was something common back then.

Thank you for uploading. German here, lived in the US for over 25 years. Appalled at the complicity between US and Germany as they fuel a genocide in Gaza. This doc is fabulous: the arguments around "who started it" at around 6:00 - always the same shit pardon my language. Now I shall abstain from further commenting. Ich gucke erstmal den ganzen :)

OF COURSE if your FAITH in "God" entails our "HUMANITY", Jesus, Our Lord was 100 percent HUMAN and 100 percent GOD. How do these 2 reconcile each other??? LOVE YOU SO MUCH MARTIN and for "Silence" and "Killers of the Flower Moon" and your series on "The Saints".

I'm now reading Mark Harris's biography of Mike Nichols and of course, they go into great detail about the making of this film. Highly recommended. Just hearing Mike's voice on this commentary is a little unnerving because I'm such a Nichols and May fan. I have all their recordings in my brain so this almost sounds like a "bit" where Mike is the name dropping intellectual film maker. Think of "Back to Bach" from their first album.

Staine’s hair in Moulin rouge was nothing like Rita’s hair in ‘Gilda’. Red hair with a side part and loose waves does not make it true to Rita hayworths hair.

In Germany right now there are journalists and a researching team together with military researching a theory that U96 wasn't brought to La Hague in the end but remained in the military harbour in Wilhelmshaven where it was bombed. There some people and historic hints that suggest it. The theory states that it's remains where used to build the dam right in the harbour. Now it's done research, if they can find remains in it. I'm a surfer in that military harbour and use that dam daily. Would be kinda cool, if that was true. Let's see if they're right.

As an American that has been to Japan about a dozen times over the years, this movie perfectly captures the feeling of being a foreigner visiting there. The first time I saw the movie, I thought it was kind of slow and boring. But then seeing it a second time, I got it. I appreciated it. The depth is subtle, but it’s everywhere in the film. Fantastic!

It's crazy: Sergio Leone was just ONE year older than Clint! Look at 20:02. . . This documentary is actually quite good, maybe one of the best (if not THE best) that I watched about Clint. P.S. Pauline Kael was one nasty witch who deserves to be forgotten, with all her BS about Clint.

However i do recommend that a director held in such high esteem as Martin Scorsese ...why doesn't he do a film about Mohammed ? See the reaction of the muslim world . If you're gonna make a video about Jesus Christ and say he gave in to temptation then do one about another religious deity and see the results of that...i guarantee muslims would take it a lot further than what Christians did because there are different global interpretations when it comes to religious discussions
@PicostoАй бұрын
Im not gonna hate Martin Scorsese because i dont think his intention was to hurt Christians . If he was blasphemous don't you think jesus would have taken care of him ? I saw parts of the movie i didn't see that it was offensive . Religious people are always gonna be offended but they're a bit hypocritical because if Christ wasnt human and wasn't tempted at all then why especially orthodoxy puts a human face to jesus ? With the icons ? We show a human face to a divine entity it's just hypocritical if you ask me , he bled on the cross that in itself is human . How can someone ve divine when he had human flesh and qualities ? It just doesn't make sense to me . They say hes " the son of god " but we don't even know what god looks like yet we think we know what Jesus looked like ?
