Does bible say you need certain number of people to become a church? Do you even know what does church mean? It means gathering. A bible study with 2 or 3 people seeking for God is a church!

46:15 that was my experience, In highschool I was in the evening service but was doing Sunday School in the morning. But somewhat wanted to get moving once we were done. Recently chatting to one of the Sunday school kids who felt all the older kids just left and they were left with seniors and young kids. Us highschoolers had no idea they felt that way. It didn't even occur.

The Bible is clear in Cor & Acts that the church is not to come together to eat. PAUL says in Cor, to eat at home. In Acts, the church would eat in the temple but eat from house to house. Pretty clear that feeding the church is not a work of the church

this was a thought provoking chat! (it’s also something i’ve been thinking deeply about for a long time) Romans 12 is one of my favourite passages as i’ve been studying sacrifice for the past several years… it’s interesting to note what’s plural and what’s singular. Offer your (many) bodies as a (one singular) living sacrifice. Paul is not encouraging individuals to be individual sacrifices, rather he is saying that as a church, we become a living sacrifice together as a united body

Subverting a work doesn't neccesarily mean to destroy its original significance, it just puts it into a new context. You yourself pointed out that the work is a pastiche. Which means it's not a parody, a parody would make fun of the work, while a pastiche celebrates it. I think the real reason why a lot of christians were upset is the performers being in drag. Which is just going along with the culture war nonsense. There were great LGBT christian artists in the past that are still celebrated, for example Caravaggio. That isn't to say the performance at the Olympics is "great", I just want to point out that getting upset over it is mostly a cultural zeitgeist thing.

HOLY MOLY! CHRISTIANS!!!??? You guys are still around?! Man, I haven't seen a Christian since I was kid! You guys aren't really Christians are you? Wait, let me look up what a Christian is, in the Bible, so I don't mess this up... hold on: Mark 16:17-18 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. ANd wait! There's MORE! John 14:12 King James Version 12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. MAN! I can't wait to watch this video and see actual Christians casting out demons, healing sick people (please don't forget about amputees) and turning water into wine and walking on water and scolding fig trees until they die and the SECOND PART!! Even GREATER THINGS than what Jesus did! This video is going to be GRIPPING, I can tell already! OH, Oh, oh.... and you guys are Communists, right? because remember all the Christians in the Bible lived together in a commune and they shared everything so uch that they didn't even call things their own? @@soulrevivalchurch2012 You have to understand, Brother. Lately, Christians are being cast in a bad light because of Christian Nationalism and MAGA. I mean - Marjorie Taylor Greene? COMON! I think about the Christian Martyrs and wonder, 'did they bring it on themselves?' It wouldn't surprise me because these days we see clearly that so many that call themselves "Christian" are so quick to jump on the treason bandwagon. If this movement isn't stopped, it's going to ruin Christianity and our beloved country and in the end, good will inevitably triumph over evil and right now, Christians are not the good guys - and they cannot even see it.

Christianity is neither evidentially true nor historically true, so you are already being dishonest in your claims, which is what I've come to expect from Christian theists and apologetics. Jesus, the bible, and Christianity are all frauds invented by the Flavian era Roman Empire, and the Roman Catholic church, collectively used to oppress and control the citizens of the Empire through guilt and fear, which is exactly how they are used today. They were a part of the Empire's propaganda campaign to pacify the citizens, to get them to pay their taxes, and to get them to stop uprising and warring against the Empire. There is virtually zero historical evidence for Jesus, and the gospels are all stolen mythologies, and 3rd party hearsay, written decades and up to a thousand years after Jesus supposedly walked, by men who didn't know him, the gospels are all storytelling, not historical accounts, rendering them completely unreliable. The entire bible is just a fictionalized history of the ancient Israelites and has absolutely nothing to do with our modern era, there is nothing in the bible that is scheduled or 'prophesied' to occur within our modern era. Jesus is a fraud, in that he lied at Matt 16:28, and again at Luke 9:27, making him a liar and a false prophet. The Bible itself is filled with multitudes of lies, (both god and Jesus lie throughout it) contradictions, scientific errors, and a plethora of pornographic passages, affirming that men wrote the bible and that a god didn't cause it, as a "perfect god" would have known when figs were in season, (Matt. 21:18-19) A perfect god wouldn't have needed to steal a donkey, (Matt 21:2-3) A perfect god would've known that the seasons are opposite on the southern half of the equator, (Matt 24:20), etc., etc. Christianity, (as are all Abrahamic religions) is deeply rooted in Paganism, rendering it a dangerous, man-made garbage religion. The fact that Christianity grafted itself onto earlier pagan worship was part of the design of the church fathers. Pagan elements were incorporated into the Christian faith on the advice of Pope Gregory the Great, who told Saint Augustine of Canterbury that rather than tear down the pagan temples in Britain, he should instead add existing pagan rituals into the mix of Christian practices, thus providing an easy transition to the new religion. Unfortunately, some of the most basic things believed by most professing Christians derive from ancient paganism rather than from the Bible. The idea that people have immortal souls was first taught in ancient Egypt and Babylon. The Greeks likewise taught that at death the soul would separate from the physical body (Jewish Encyclopedia, 1941, Vol. 6, pp. 564, 566, "Immortality of the Soul"). That idea was merged into Christianity from Greek philosophy. It did not come from inspired Scripture. The ancient Egyptians developed the concept of going to heaven. In their mythology, the god Osiris was killed but then raised back to life, whereupon he went to a distant heavenly realm. The Egyptians concluded that if he could do this, then human beings could follow (Lewis Browne, This Believing World, pp. 83-84). This heavenly reward was a central teaching of several ancient mystery religions-but not the religion of the Hebrews or early Christians. Even some Christian teachings about Jesus have origins in paganism rather than the Biblical record. Babylonian mythology regarding Ishtar claimed that she had a son named Tammuz. He died each year but then would be reborn again in the spring. The Babylonian veneration of both the mother and child influenced later versions of Christianity that deified Jesus' mother Mary as much as Jesus Himself (Sir James Frazer, The Golden Bough, 1993, p. 326). This stands in contrast to Scripture, which honors Mary, but reveres no ordinary human being-only Christ. The Chaldean symbol for Tammuz was the letter tau, which appears as a san-serif "t" and is commonly considered a cross (Babylonian Mystery Religion, p. 51; Vine's, "Cross, Crucify"). While the Bible does indeed teach that Jesus was crucified, there is no record of the shape of the crucifix. At that time, Romans used various forms of upright stakes, some with crossbeams and some without. The Bible does not indicate that the early Church ever used the cross as a religious symbol, but several pagan religions had been doing so for centuries before Christ was born. Contrary to this, the truth is that most of the features of Christianity that people today think of as superior were, in fact, already options in the Roman world. I could go on, and on, and on, and on, but I'll stop here. Read the book, "Caesar's Messiah" to learn the FACTUAL bases for Christianity, Jesus, and the bible, they are all FRAUDS!!!

Trolling all the christian channels looking for answers: I am seeking clarification on a few theological matters. Firstly, I would like to understand the rationale behind the belief in Jesus' resurrection, excluding personal anecdotes, as I am not swayed by emotional appeals. Secondly, I am curious about the apparent contradiction between God's command of "one man, one woman" and the existence of individuals with Xxy chromosomes, possessing both male and female genetic traits. Are such individuals considered God's children? Why are they not explicitly mentioned or represented in the Bible? Furthermore, does their choice of romantic partners, regardless of gender since they themselves are both, constitute a sin? I genuinely seek answers to these questions and appreciate any insights you may provide.
@LandonBurns-d5k
@LandonBurns-d5k 4 ай бұрын
I am not a christian; however, I find many of your questions are answerable under the christian worldview. I will skip the first question (although I think there are some rationale bases for belief in the resurrection) as I do not believe that Jesus was resurrected, and you are asking specifically about belief. To respond to your second 'question', (I will assume that gender is reducible to sex chromosomes) if the "contradiction" lies in the asymmetry between the description of God's (alleged) manufacturing of reality and our better informed description of that reality then I do believe this to be reconcilable. Consider for a moment that Genesis were truly written by a man inspired by God, rather than God Himself; It appears unnecessary, maybe even counterproductive, to the central message of Genesis that there be included an account of such nuance as chromosomes in a time period thousands of years before their discovery; therefore, why would we expect God to ensure that a man, who is, according to modern standards, completely scientifically illiterate, write it? This argument is even stronger under the assumption that faith (in this sense, lacking certainty) is necessary for Christianity because of how much of an annihilator of doubt an included description of how chromosomes affect phenotype, thousands of years before the development of Mendelian genetics, would have been. There also seems to be an answer to your final question in the christian belief of the need for a person's prior knowledge of an action's moral standing for their doing it to qualify as sin. If you are genuinely seeking answers, it might be better to look into the writings of theologians and christian scholars.
@Ninjaskeptic
@Ninjaskeptic 4 ай бұрын
@@LandonBurns-d5k Thank you for your response. I found your perspective to be quite intriguing. However, I believe you only addressed one of my inquiries, which is why individuals with both sex chromosomes are not mentioned in the Bible. As you are not a Christian, I will accept your opinion without recourse. it is important to note that prior knowledge is a significant factor in today's context. I am genuinely interested in exploring this topic further and would appreciate any recommendations for theologians or scholars who have addressed this matter. Thanks!

What's wrong with laughing at fictional characters such as the Jesus of the Christian bible ?
