He turned against the rotor? With helps it’s easier to turn one way vs the other because of the rotor torque. I though they turn fast to the left and slow to the right. Either way nice flying!
@charliemarren87246 ай бұрын
In a North American made helicopter, like this R44, the rotor blades turn left, so the aircraft rotating right like in this video is a torque turn, easier on the aircraft.

I don't speak Spanish but I did run this through Google Translation, hope this helps!

I’m hoping to learn ag turns in a bell 47 soon. Does the lack of a governor make it any trickier?
@crewdogg162 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure that I’d say it’s trickier per se’. it does require additional attention, especially when you have to accept a direct headwind/tailwind when spraying. turning to the wind tends to keep the RPMs high which require significant throttle reduction and the opposite is true for the turn away from the wind. the big key seems to be just keeping your turns as mellow and consistent as possible.
@ayykay99872 жыл бұрын
@@crewdogg16 appreciate the knowledge. I’m a PPL and will remain one. But, I learn from Ag Cowboys so wanted to learn turns at some point. “Slower inputs and maneuvers” seems to be the theme to the 47. Can’t get crazy with it.
@michaellynaugh43722 жыл бұрын
You can use the Collective to do the turns, don't need pedals, for a left turn, go down with the collective, Up for a right turn did ag for years, you may need a little peddle on both , try it and let me know, don't need to pull up so high, feel it out, I don't want you to get hurt, I also flew the Wasp a little bit, flew Bell's from the D-1, most G models including Turbo Charged , just learn to twist the throotle either way, just be patient, it will come all of a sudden!! My last ride was the Bell 47 Soloy, with is the gas Turbine model without Stab bars,that was like flying a Jetranger! Good Luck, remember to always listen to that little guy on your shoulder, if he says don't do something, Don't, you can always go back,watch for powerlines and Guy wires, lost friends from both! Stay Safe!

@@michaellynaugh4372 appreciate the advice. Im flying a turbo charged (G-3B-2) right now. It’s been out of commission for a while due waste gate issue (installing a new actuator soon). In the mean time my instructor let me fly his Bell which is the Soloy(Gas Turbine). Got to practice ag turns for the first time in that. Being it had a governor and plenty of power it was very forgiving.

Love the sound! I wish Colorado had those kind of EMS Helicopters. That looks like an EC155.
@crewdogg168 жыл бұрын
+The Angry General The Dauphin is very similar to the EC155, it doesn't sound as good though! The EC155 utilizes tailrotor blades that are offset instead of being symmetrically spaced to eliminate the noise footprint.
@Angry.General14618 жыл бұрын
+Andrew Lytle They both look the same i think the EC155 has a little bit of a longer body than the Dauphin. Are they both from the same manufacture? I notice the difference in the sound. They must run off of different engines correct me if im wrong. The Dauphin sounds a lot like the air force Comanche helicopter.
@crewdogg168 жыл бұрын
The 155 is a little longer and wider. They both are manufactured by Eurocopter which is now Airbus. The engines are both Turbomeca Arriel engines but different models. Most people probably can't tell them apart except, the EC155 has a longer nose and 5 main rotor blades instead of four on the AS365.
@Angry.General14618 жыл бұрын
Andrew Lytle Some EC155s have a 4 main rotor blades, some EC155s have a 5 main rotor blades. Maybe one is made to go faster than the other.
@crewdogg168 жыл бұрын
ALL EC155s have 5 blades. There are AS365N3s with longer noses due to bigger weather radar.
