I wanna see someone do this Gabe brown style. That would shake modern ag industry however it’s impossible due to the fact plants have to put energy out to get inorganic nutrients. It’s still cheaper prettier and more sustainable than this method, but it’s not gonna get this high. I’d say 350 max for no till cover cropping organic methods.

yes. it's an interesting idea that the folks at Genesis are looking at very closely. Of note, the economics of growing in an area where the rainfall if supposedly "too low" and property prices, rents and taxes are low is a lot different than someone growing in the heart of the corn belt where those things are all much higher. Hitting 180 bushel with no inputs doesn't work out as well as it does in ND when the rents taxes and property prices are all set based on much higher expectations.

We are creeping at 20,000 kg in central Mexico @ 2150 meters of sea level. I wonder if higher yields are possible @ this altitude?
@robertreznik93307 жыл бұрын
I think your daylight length is a limiting factor. The 36th parallel is a good position for high yields. 6500 ft elevation is a good place like NW New Mexico as it provides cool night temps and warm day time. Our area NW Texas has produced almost 460 bu/ac but our elevation is almost 4000ft. We have had a 400 acre continuous corn field average 19000 with limited irrigation with No special treatment and 30" row.

532 bushels!! I thought they peaked at 400, I'm lucky to get the 175 bu/a.

we got 14000 kg per hec in pakistan… and many farmers get this average every year with pioneer seed
@corporateraiter8 жыл бұрын
Hi mz dogar, that's not bad -- to put David's yield into context....her got 33,390.98 kg per hec.

+Alhadi Swerry you're going to have to decide on a population/seeding rate and that will drive your fertility decisions. In general I know that David likes to have at least 1 lb for N per bushel of corn he is trying to raise per acre.
@alhadiswerry50128 жыл бұрын
PLEASE HOW THAT BUSHELES TO GIVE KG/ACER
@corporateraiter8 жыл бұрын
+Alhadi Swerry A corn yield of 200 bushels per acre is first expressed by weight (200 bu @ 56 lb/bu = 11,200 lbs) and then converted to kilograms (11,200 lbs * .4536 kg/lb = 5,080 kg). Because a hectare is equal to 2.471 acres, it means that 200 bu/ac is equal to about 12,553 kg/ha (5,080 kg/ac x 2.471 ac/ha = 12,553 kg/ha). This translates into 126 quintals per hectare and 12.55 metric tons per hectare. -- that's the equation...replace the 200 with 532 at the beginning of the calculation
I congratulate the success which use corn seed brand?

+Sistem Stand Hi. Thank you for asking. Mr Hula grew several varieties in 2015. My understanding is that for this particular plots that yielded 532 bushels per acre of corn he was growing the Pioneer P1197AM
