Might be an unpopular opinion… but I think Matty is the right move for the band right now. Stephen has damaged his voice through the years and can’t hit the notes the same anymore. Will always love Stephen but Matty is doing a great job, bringing a new energy, and nailing those notes!

This is what I was thinking. Stephen has a very unique sound but it seemed like the last couple times I saw Anberlin live that Stephen's voice seems to get overpowered by the instrumentals and not because of mixing.
