The Mega Man stuff! I became a Mega Man fan not long after SMM1 released, and eventually I challenged myself in late 2015 to try making a few recreations. I started with just a few random ones (Cut Man, the two GB ones), but then after doing the Needle and Hard Man stages I decided to commit to doing all of the main eight Mega Man 3 stages. Was quite the undertaking at the time... although honestly, nowadays I would probably find it boring! I completed the endeavor in October 2016. Are you a Mega Man fan as well, by any chance? And that's that! My final level is supposed to be dioramas of the levels in my initial series (the first 32 uploads), but in reverse order. I felt it was a fitting sendoff, a reflection on how far this game had brought my design skills since 2015. Good job finishing it in one go by the way, it's not particularly hard but it is a required no-hit run! And a very big thank you for playing through all 76 of my levels, AND beating them! I generally don't make particularly hard levels, but I had some that leaned to the meaner side near the end. I feel quite honored that you took the time to go through and record everything... makes me feel a little bad that I couldn't beat like half of your levels, but it is what it is. >_> Anyway, I'll see you around! I'm sure that I'll still lurk around on your channel here, maybe even peek over on Twitch every so often. I am currently working on a big 40-level SMM2 project, so I haven't abandoned level making either. I look forward to sharing that in the future!

I have the Mega Man Legacy Collection and Mega Man X Legacy Collection, but I haven't gotten around to them yet. Hopefully in the near future. It was a pleasure playing through your SMM1 levels!
@AwesomeRobo997 ай бұрын
Ah, here we go. I've been waiting for this part from the start - I saw that you had beaten both of my Super Expert levels and was shocked. Most of my followers bailed on these two! The troll level is a nightmarish version of my earlier course "The Obligatory First Level", believe it or not; it was really fun to make. Your playthrough went exactly as I hoped it would, that was very fun to watch. This course was one of my very last SMM1 levels, so I never really got a chance to see anyone else play it until now. It was thoroughly satisfying watching you slowly work out what to do, and eventually get to that sweet goal axe. Sky Castle Daredevil Run was similarly satisfying, I was on the edge of my seat cheering for you in this one. That Sledge Bro hammer snipe at the end of one run looked very painful! Hope that you enjoyed this one, and that the heartbeat effect didn't give you a headache. ':-D All of the levels in this video are relatively recent compared to the rest of my library, having been created in summer 2018 or later. Accordingly, I think they hold up pretty well, except maybe The Ascent. (The SMM2 version is way better, lol.) I'm kinda mad at myself that I never bothered to find a way to insert a checkpoint into King Boo's Courtyard though, the solution would take me five minutes with my current level design skills and would fix a glaring flaw on an otherwise well-made level. It was very amusing to see that this one stumped you! I'm just glad that you didn't end up getting screwed out of getting the Shoe later in the level, as I've seen happen to other people. >_>
@ade11747 ай бұрын
I tend to play levels pretty carefully so I'm definitely glad I didn't find myself in too many precarious situations but getting sniped by that sledge bro definitely hurt!
@AwesomeRobo997 ай бұрын
Holy cow, that power play on Athletic Daredevil Run! Even I take several attempts on average, doing a near-Super Expert level in one attempt is amazing! Great job with Unstable Path as well. I cannot tell you how happy I am that someone finally has Wall Jump Tower/Collapsing Tower Escape recorded together somewhere. (The two-part nature made it impossible to submit these levels to streamers back in the day, heh.) The pair was exhausting for me to make and led to severe burnout afterward, easily my toughest SMM1 project. Even with my SMM2 stuff, I've made a ton of better levels, but I have never attempted another two-part level like this since. On the flip side of things, Fixing a Bad Level was one of my most fun levels to create. Originally it featured Miiverse comments that would first point out all of the flaws in the bad version, and then explain what was fixed in the good version. I originally made it as a 2YMM level and released it on my birthday; the new version is instead my 50th level, which I guess also works. :-P

I'm glad you enjoyed! I definitely love a good challenge.
@AwesomeRobo998 ай бұрын
Ah, here we go, the "new game+" stuff! Both playing your levels and watching you play others', I get the impression that you appreciate a challenge, so I'm sure that you enjoyed these. It also helps that the quality is generally a little higher here; whereas my earlier series was almost entirely from 2015 (with a few exceptions), this is pretty much all from 2016 or later. This is technically also a 32-level series, but it's not as important. Can you tell that I'm a Mario Galaxy fan with all of the Speed/Daredevil Runs? X-D That was interesting how you suddenly backtracked in Tiny-Huge Maze when you thought you saw a secret, in retrospect that would've been a great spot to hide something. I was never that good at hiding goodies though.

Nice, your session ended right on the finale of my series. Whether or not that was intentional, that's really cool. Even all of these years later, it's very interesting watching my levels get played. I always say that there's no feedback like visual feedback - even when I thought I could point out all of the issues with these levels, I see you either getting through levels or getting stuck in ways that I never thought about. Doors to Nowhere was particularly interesting in that regard, I've always wondered what it looks like when someone else plays through it. Flutter Boo's Misleading Mansion is my favorite SMM1 level, hope you enjoyed it! Some other personal favorites that show up in this segment are Retro Remains and Tower of the 8-Bits.

First of all, thank you so much for this! As someone who had already lost his Wii U's data more than once, I was greatly concerned when they announced that the online would shut down - my data would become very temporal whenever that happened. So I SUPER appreciate you taking the time to record all of this! Not to mention that you played through it all in the first place, 76 levels is a lot! This isn't terribly obvious from just looking at my profile, but the first 32 levels are actually supposed to be a series - I'm wondering if you had figured this out yourself actually, as you finished this recording on a world-end castle. Either way, just thought I'd put that out there. And I hope that you managed to enjoy all of this! In spite of the much lower level of polish compared to my SMM2 output. (Why did I love spamming SFX on everything? Lol.) I'm sure it was fine, but I guess I'm a little self-conscious of what my level quality was like nearly ten years ago. (Most of the levels in this video are actually from 2015!) It's nice to see how my skills were when I first started out, but I'm really happy with how far I've come with my recent works. :-) I'll can the talk for now so that I don't start rambling forever, but I'm looking forward to the rest of your recordings!
