Appreciate the analysis, but I think that’s just called “getting across your man” as then like you say the attacker either draws a foul or the defender has to back off which Walker does in this instance.

I think he can make a huge difference in a game, I think he’s a lot more direct than any other wingers we have at the moment, saka tends to be a bit more timid and will keep the ball which is a good thing at times but means we don’t get as many attacking opportunities

Yeah as a defender myself I feel like this is just a bog standard play. Position yourself so that you can cut out the passing lane, pretty simple

We have the best defensive record this season for a reason. What makes Saliba exceptional is his composure and ability to read the game. And of course his physical attributes and technical ability are excellent as well. Can't wait to see what kind of a beast he develops into.

idc if he's been playing alright recently, i will never rate him he's so slow with everything he does he's got no pace, his finishing is atrocious, i mean there was literally a time against chelsea when he was in front of goal and he tried to play a through ball. I know ppl are gonna have a meltdown when they read this but im sorry he's not good enough, i want isak.

i want isak aswell but you clearly dont know what kai actually does for the team, just because sometimes he isnt fast and sometimes makes the wrong decision doesnt mean anything. he is one of the best in the world at the dummy runs and the countless runs he makes, creates SO many more chances for the team as a whole across the game

This isn't really tracking back into a low block. By definition, you can't really do that. A low block is a defensive setup from the very start with the two lines behind the ball at all times. This is simply good tracking back by the defense and midfield but then joined by the front 2 as Liverpool's attack developed too slowly. Everyone knows you have to put bodies in front of good teams when they're on the attack and Arsenal trusts their counter from deep in their own half without leaving 1 or 2 players high to initiate a long counter.
