Question for non native's is can it handle a choppy water of the Mid Atlantic Area like the Chesapeake , Delaware Bays , . Nice to run wide open but if your out fishing and storm rolls in you want to be able to get back in with out sinking ?

They really are best used in shallow calm water. The bigger hulls do okay in the chop but its not going to be a comfortable or dry ride, but if you know how to handle a small boat you'll be safe and it will get you back.

Is that a long shaft motor? Just bought a built 40 hp Tohatsu 2 stroke 20 inch long shaft and a manual on the fly Jack plate. I’m hoping I can mount the motor high enough up on the Jack plate so I can get the RPMs necessary but I’m a little skeptical.

yeah it was a long shaft. The tiller was way up in the air so I recently switch to a short shaft, much more practical and comfortable but I did run the long shaft for years without any issues

When we filmed this video the motor was strait on the transom. Since then there's been a vance 4" setback jackplate added which helped gain a few inches of running draft but primarily was added to lessen drag and get the motor set right. No tabs or foils needed if you have good weight distribution.

This one was bought used so it was already rigged that way, but this old style side console really is fantastic, you still have a lot of room in the boat.

unfortunately the Honda's are only really available as a 20". Tohatsu is the only one I know of that makes a standard 15" motor in the 40hp range

they have done a few side console LT10's, though these are small boats and in my opinion anything smaller then a lt25 or super gets cramped with remote steering setups

Its best described as a modified semi cleaver prop. It was a 17p but I've added a bunch of cupping and curl to the blades
