I love Solvang. My husband used to live in Cambria, and I'm from L.A., and I actually never have been to Solvang before. Before we got married in 1993, in the Fall 1992, he took me on a drive along the central coast and he took me to Solvang and I fell in love with this beautiful, pretty and cute town. After we got married a year later, I moved my whole life to start a married life in San Luis Obispo. Any time I had a relative visit me, I always took them to Solvang! They loved it too and some have never been to Solvang. Of course I would take them to other towns a long the central coast. I seem to turn into a tour guide for my friends and family..Later I worked at the Hearst Castle at their IMAX theater and somehow I became known to be the information employee at my job that my co-workers pointed to me to answer questions! So many cool people from different countries. And I volunteered my time at Cambria's Chamber of Commerce. That was fun to do and meet all kinds of people from all over the world. I live in Bakersfield now, too expensive to buy a home on the coast, so I really miss my favorite little town, I hope to go back soon. ❤😊

I don’t see bike ride on that list. Solvang has some great biking areas and tons of fun ways to get around. From eletric MOKE, to a horse drawn carriage as well as up to a 9 person surry cycle. Come visit solvang and explore.Velkommen to solvang :-)

I live here and let me tell you it’s overpriced and overhyped. It’s basically a tourist trap.

In 1971, we spent a few days in Solving, my parents and I. The town was OK, but this place where we had dinner was grand. We asked at the motel where we stayed what was as good restaurant serving up the local fare. We were told of this place within walking distance and gave it a try. OMG!!! I was in heaven!! The food was German and Swedish and was excellent. And being a smorgasbord, I had my fill, over and over. Yum yum.

Algum brasileiro morando em Solvang? Eu conheci uma senhora de Sao Paulo que trabalha com Limousine no cassino de Solvang, muito simpática, mas não me lembro o nome.

It does not look like Denmark at all. it looks more like a mix of Norway/Sweden/Germany

I'm from Solvang, I'm Danish, and I think the whole tourism thing is silly. My family came here in 1928 way before all of this silly tourist trap stuff. I would rather just go and visit family in Denmark. Still of you come here we shall get hammered wasted and go blow shit up in the mountains. Yes that is the only stuff to do around here.

I agree, this is nothing like Denmark, not even Den Gammel By in Århus. It's closer to Zaanse Schans just outside of Amsterdam. I apologize that the cultural history of other countries is so distorted in the US. I'm an American, but am now living in Copenhagen.

Last time I were in Solvang I saw this very cool book shop, and the best thing was that they had a sign which said:"Come in! Were always open!" and then next to that sign there were a "Closed" Sign!... Solvang is really a great place!

I was in Solvang in 1991 with my father and brother. I was about hmmm 7 years old. It was a trip we made for 6 weeks in the States. We went to 45 of them!. Why Solvang? because I'm danish and we wanted to see how it was. It was super funny to see a "little denmark" in USA hehe. I remember we went to a Kro for some food (kolde bord), and the old owner (84 years old?) could speak fluent danish. Solvang you have my APROVED as danish town overseas :P

i went there and it was one of the best experiences...i know to the danish it seems tacky but to us americans its like a fantasy land! LOL :) i loveeeeeed it
