Mic gain 15, and do longer overs. Folk have only 4 seconds to see your transmission and get back to you.

Great video the only problem that I see with this idea is if you want / need to have it connected to Sentinel. Keep up the great videos.

I have a PL330. Using a resonant vertical for 40 and 20 meters in my backyard, I've never heard anything but birdies and noise on this radio. It picks up FM broadcast stations great, though. My HAM rig picks up tons of stuff on both frequencies and the same antenna. I've never had much luck with DSP or SDR receivers, though.

20 years in army. I saw some winners and losers but some thing like the 330 would have been placed in the top drawer in my kit. I used to carry around a rig it's name was the standard of Japan. The 330 was a change with the digital chip. Runs rings around it. Both are in my stable. 😊

I use 220 pretty often, in Ohio. Just hooked up 900mhz system tonight, but cannot hit a repeater about 10 miles away. I'll worry about 1.2ghz after I get a 900 contact..

Not a fan of testing and comparing radios on strong signals. A proper comparison is to test on weak signals, which one does the best job? So, a lame comparison...

Nice one! I brought my TYT MDUV380 with me this morning, was able to test it on the Ipswich repeater, though didn't get any contacts. My local repeaters have gone over to Brandmeister from Phoenix, but I haven't got around to changing my codeplug. Hope you have fun at SEAPAC, 73, G0CIQ

Sorry im a new ham and still confused about a lot of this But does the dmr,c4fm and fusions all work together or are they completely different systems Also can you use the c4fm while mobile
@Maxxix489021 күн бұрын
Hey, C4FM is the codec Yaesu uses for its System Fusion, think of it like mp3 codec for music, Fusion, DMR and D-Star all use a similar codec but none of them are compatible to the others out of the box but you can use a Hotspot like the Openspot 4 which can „translate“ from one mode to another, maybe look into that. Of course you can use C4FM mobile, provided you and the person you want to talk to both use C4FM compatible Radios, like the FT-5D, FT-70D, FTM-200, FTM-300, FTM-500 and so on…

Suggestion, when capturing video always orientate the camera horizontally (landscape), never orientate it vertical (portrait). Every TV screen, monitor screen, computer screen, movie theater screen, are orientated horizontally not vertical. In videos where the camera is vertical (portrait orientation), then played back on the aforementioned devices the left one-third, and right one-third of the screen is cut off, causing the video to appear as tall and narrow, a confusing stick video,. We humans, maybe all lifeforms, view our surroundings considerably more horizontally than vertically. Holding a cellphone or camera vertically the video produced is similar to looking through a tight vertical keyhole or wearing horse blinders, again not good. In addition, when held vertically, to view the entire scene the camera person must pan more left and right creating too much camera movement; not good. Also, because us humans view our world more horizontally, a video captured vertically becomes spatially disorientating.

Do you have a GPS attached? Does the other station have to? Wondering how it gets the distance.
@Sidmi5utc2 ай бұрын
You can manually enter your lat and long in the menu and if the other station has done likewise then the distance is shown.

I have few of those antennas. Very narrow tune frequency. Might be good if you work on the same frequency so you can tune antenna to this. Will fail to work from CW to the end of SSB.
