This song is very soulfoul. It reminds me of the last days my mom spent in the hospital before she passed away.

Does anyone know what object Adrian is using on his guitar here? It creates a sort of mix between violin bow and a bottleneck at the same time. With Portishead I'm always blown away by how creative they manage to be within very simple frames or structures. Timeless band and music.

I know people will crucify me for my comments but I sincerely wish for someone with a better, more controlled voice performing this song. The song deserves better. Her voice is sometimes so brittle, it reminds me of the old women in my childhood singing in our church, that geriatric vibrato particularly in the high notes is just not working for me. She never had a strong voice but as she gets older her voice has neither the range, the precision or the strength to make it through this song.

I agree, however, for some people this is what adds sentiment. The brittle voice mimicking that of a weak person in despair, it almost makes it relatable. I enjoy it because it feels raw and emotional. kind of how radiohead has "bad" vocals because they make sad music. I don't think id enjoy a sad song as much if someone powerful and confident sang it, just my opinion though.

Fantastic version. Crazy to think this was 14 years after dummy and its been 16 years now since this perfomance. I would have been about 3 when dummy was released and about 17 here. TIME GOES QUICK. And also slow. Love Portishead 🌛🌟

They were so good! I saw them at a small rock bar in Flint MI called The Machine Shop. After the show, I went to buy a t-shirt and Johnny was at the merch booth. So I had him sign it. They book HUGE bands, but max capacity is around 500 people. So the shows are really intimate, and you have a really good chance of meeting the musicians. I also met Wayne Static (RIP), Jah Red from HED p.e., Lajon from Sevindust, and all the members of Coal Chamber.

Блуждающая звезда (перевод Lisbet) Please could you stay awhile to share my grief Пожалуйста, не мог бы ты остаться ненадолго, чтоб разделить моё горе? For it's such a lovely day To have to always feel this way And the time that I will suffer less Is when I never have to wake Wandering stars, for whom it is reserved The blackness of darkness forever Wandering stars, for whom it is reserved The blackness of darkness forever Those who have seen the needles eye, now tread Like a husk, from which all that was, now has fled And the masks, that the monsters wear To feed upon their prey Wandering stars, for whom it is reserved The blackness of darkness forever Wandering stars, for whom it is reserved The blackness of darkness forever (Always) doubled up inside Take awhile to shed my grief (Always) doubled up inside Taunted, cruel... Wandering stars, for whom it is reserved The blackness of darkness forever Wandering stars, for whom it is reserved The blackness of darkness forever
