RIP SERGIO. As a jazz pianist/vocalist .. I had the pleasure of meeting Sergio in the 90s. Sergio is an artist that influenced my life and I love performing bossa nova solo or in jazz combos.

Jackie Ward sang hundreds of commercials in the 1960's-70's; the best known is probably "Rice-A-Roni, the San Francisco treat." She was also a choral singer at CBS, singing background vocals on the Danny Kaye, Red Skelton, Carol Burnett, and Sonny & Cher variety hours.

Weird how this song and 66's sound in general absolutely captures that time period in a bottle. I was six or seven years old then and I have no direct memory of hearing this song in my youth but for some reason it's a shot of time travel to my brain. Just weird.

The summer of 1963 really was a beautiful time for me. I lived in Pomfret Center, CT, and headed for the beach, Misquamicut, RI, every chance I got. This song brings all that back.....

Too bad this band went from pushing the limits of musical creation, to pushing Pop Crap! Their 1st 2 Lp’s are amazing! The rest?… not so much!

For some reason Sergio fired everyone in 1966-8 range. He only rehired Lani and released Janis and the guys; never sounded as good again.

She was one of the Ron Hicklin Singers - studio vocalists - doing many many radio station jingles, commercials for McDonald's, Kawasaki, movie and TV show soundtracks - the Partridge Family, Love American Style, and more along with hit songs...Bobby Sherman "Julie Do Ya Love Me" and "Hey Mister Sun."
