Thanks for the video. Very helpful, even when I'm drunk on 4 glasses of wine, 2 tequila on the rocks, 2 cointreau, a tequila, and 2 vanilla coke cruisers. And I still understood!!

This Video is very touching. Thank you Coach Lowe for everything you have done for my son for the past 4 years. My son would not be who he is if it had not been for you. You are one of the strongest male figures in his life.

I didn't as a kid, but I'm glad my mom pushed me. I grew to love it. Football and track. But mom only came to one game. The only game I lost. Haha. She taped it.

Easy....let them. My parents forced me to play sport but I found a solution to that...in ball sports every opportunity I got I'd pass deliberately to an opposition player. I'd also make sure I always came last. Eventually my parents and sport's teachers learnt their lesson and left me alone and didn't force me to play sport.

What the hell is this, this channel seemed good, now they drop this celebrating abusive coaches and championing bad sports and cheaters. The cuban women werent in the spirit of sport doing that and its no defence saying oh look how they said sorry... actions on the sportsfield reveal character and its insulting for this guy to suggest all top coaches are abusive just because youre trying to rose lens some guy who just died and seemingly abused all his players

These types of videos get a lot of views and few likes. Why? I don't believe people like the truthful message. Instead, parents wanted to feel justified. Are some coaches bad? Sure. Do leagues and teams have politics? Absolutely. Are those the reasons the significant majority of players don't get the time they or their parents think they should? Many parents have so much bias they fail to see not only what other players are doing openly but the behind the scenes efforts as well. More importantly, they fail to see what their player isn't doing such as 1. arriving at least on time 2. Being ready to play instead of having repeated equipment issues 3. Attending practice Instead, there are excuses such as other commitments. Enjoy those other commitments. Focus on those.

As a player, I experienced it myself it and witnessed it with others. As a coach, i consider that but I still get parents complaining about significantly subpar players who cannot accept the coaching and perform the fundamentals. Telling them to make it hard for any coach to keep them off the field/ice/court doesn't register. The parents ask for the same results star players achieve without the same effort, skill, or potential. Sure, I'll play you to help you personally develop but the player has to not only put effort in physically but mentally as well. I take it a level further and relate these experiences to the business world and what to expect. Some parents will simply make any excuse they can. I keep the emails, videos, and notes to share with others if it becomes an issue.

My son who is 16, has played Academy level Soccer for the last 3 years and is not able to play High School. It has been devastating to him and its tough on him in school when his friends know he is a great soccer player but wont play on their team. Ridiculous! And this by the way is because the high schools won't allow it if a player cant make the majority of practices, although when he is not their is practicing at a MUCH higher level! Typical Liberal mindset!

As a Parent, Many coaches these days are full of $hit and don't study the game. This isn't the Lute Olson era. Once expensive AAU/Club teams and adults began profiting off child exploitation, Parents like Lebron popped up.

Developing yourself and your personality outside of your sport will not only make life more enjoyable but it will also make you a better athlete. The ones who are confident in who they are outside the sport can better adjust to things that go wrong and can always see multiple perspectives that will help them get better and their team get better.

Sam and Shawn both speak very highly of their Chinese coaches saying they instilled in them values of respect, discipline and hard work. Both maintain that their coaches were never soft on them; they pushed them hard but using those values as the foundation of everything. It seems like a good mode for coaches to follow.

In anything, when you have setbacks it’s important to stay positive about the outcome. This doesn’t mean you can’t be disappointed, sometimes you will not be happy with the outcome of something. But you can grow from that and be stronger moving forward.
