This is simply beautiful. I've listened to many versions of this piece played on the piano. But this is the first time I've seen it's played on violin and piano. Such a masterpiece.

Dude, I cannot remember how many variations of this I have watched and listened to over the years. Yet, seeing an enthusiastic Siegfried is always a sight to remember. 😁

one of the most disturbingly touching productions, seemingly based around the fall of mankind. tambosi creates a very provocative staging, however perhaps a little musically underpowered (with the obvious exception being cornelia gotz's konigin)

Singer needs to get out of the book. If he could sing this with his eyes contacting the audience, if would be far more effective. The orchestra and conductor Fletzberger are first rate!!

I love it as a duet between man and woman. Body language of the song old old way don't hen peck and I won't get heavy handed with you. One of those groovy European Eurythmics things.

I'm not sure what to think, except... why isn't this man world-famous? I never thought I'd hear a live performance to rival Pollini or Weissenberg, but here it is. It really SWINGS, and he is totally on top of the insane technical demands. Bravissimo!

You can just see Yukon King bounding through the snow, Sergeant Preston not far behind on his horse. 60 years ago, I listened to this on the radio and loved it then, and still. This excellent rendition made me smile - a lot. Thanks!

This is probably the 'freshest', most 'spirited' and outright most elevating rendition of this Overture in those 15 years that I have been scouring YT for this Overture. And, Lo-and-Behold, it is a youth orchestra that does the job almost to perfection. I am really blown away by the minimalistc size of this Orchestra, as well as the soud, accuracy and musical depth in this performance.

Honestly the best version of the forging song I've heard since Lauritz Melchior's! Just too bad they cut the last verse of the "Notung'" song. It's the one with the most fun in it.

Agreed, and Stefan Vinke gave a thrilling rendition at Covent Garden, and still sounded fresh at the end. Compare these with the much-admired Windgassen, who to me, sounds out of his comfort zone in anything heavier than Lohengrin.

It's just exciting to hear that! The idea of Andreas performing with the hammer, in addition to being a bold decision, turned out to be very exciting - the experience turned out to be full, as it inevitably makes us feel all the emotion of the character Siegfried! Andreas' voice in this piece sounded exactly as I expected to hear from other performers - the "metal" present in his voice in the high region has all the responsibility of success. Bravissimo!!
