Congratulations for such an accurate and detailed work, and thank your for the explanation! I'm designing industrial products, powered with SMPS, usually with no PE, and with many different isolated ports including ethernet and analogue inputs, and I use to have lots of work to have low emissions while avoiding dielectric breakdown through the windings of the CMC. With your circuits I will be able to estimate the effects of the parasitic capacitance of this isolated circuits for the voltage spike. CMC are commonly underestimated in terms of breakdown voltage between input and output, sometimes visible as a blue glow in the part combined with higher EMC disturbance level as the provided by the test itself. Before I start to reproduce your schematics, is there a way to gently get them? Thank you again!

Thanks for the comment! Are you working with high power electronics? Maybe you are doing your own CMC on some cores? I did not have this Issue with CMC before, very interesting. One thing about CMC layout that you need to have no GND plane under CMC for 1 or more layers below because the CM current can bypass and most of the immiunity tests is common mode current. Sent me an email, contact is on my YT website. Regards

Hello, a very interesting video. I have observed that in the LPE circuit you connect V1(-) to PE_in through a 10k resistor. why do you do this? Is it indicated in the standard?
@emcDV
@emcDV Ай бұрын
Hi, 10k resistor it is not a standard value I put it due to LTspice problem with short but you could try different values. Just think what connection you have in reality and what value should be there. Generally you want to simulate circuit close to your reality. Thanks for your question! Regards.

The simulations that you present are fine for a system that is class I i.e. has a connection to chassis and earth but class II devices are different as they don't tend to have Y-caps. How do you typically measure the different ground connections? I typically use the gnd and com symbols with a 10pf and 10Gig between them.

Hey this is great. I was working on a simulation for Burst as well. The new IEC60601-1-2 specification requires 100KHz all the time the 5KHz has been relegated to the past.
@emcDV
@emcDV 6 ай бұрын
Thanks! I think more and more standards will have only 100 kHz, as you wrote about 5 kHz, that this is a requirement of the past👍 Try to change only the frequency, and the circuit should work with 100 kHz. It will be a little slower.
