Beautiful gun. I have one of the JM Marlin Guide Guns I bought new in 2000. I had an FFL at the time, so I got it for $362. MSRP was $540. A bargain at any price. It has the straight-grip lever, but I like the pistol grip style of yours better. I think it looks and feels better. I think Ruger has made a great gun even better than the JM versions. I am glad Ruger rescued them from the Remlin versions, which have a mediocre reputation for quality. Ruger's quality is top notch.

@@claiborneeastjr4129 thanks for the comment, you have a nice rifle and amazing how much firearms have gone up in price over the years. I agree Ruger really has done a great job with the Marlin line for sure. I own Henry rifles and the Ruger Marlins are nicer quality in my opinion. I replaced the trigger in this rifle with a Timney and definitely worth the investment.

You should get into reloading. If you cast your own bullets, you can shoot the 45 - 70 much more economically.

Gotta be careful with the Marlins just before the Ruger takeover, I have a friend who had one, and he had nothing but problems from the get go, the hammer kept hanging up on the extractor, and he had metal burs, and a floppy trigger, the quality control towards the end was non existent

Suppressors? They are still a NFA item so you would need to submit paperwork to include $200 tax stamp fee for review and approval. So legal, yes, but only after significant approval process and ATF tracks all NFA items.

I will be interested to see you shoot this at the range from 50 to 100 yards. I own single shot .45-70 rifles, by US 1879 Springfield Armory, Pedersoli RRB, and Pedersoli 1885 Rifle. What is the threaded muzzle cover for ?
@WildcatGunsandAmmo3 ай бұрын
@@robertrobert7924 thanks for comment, I had it at the range shooting at 50 yards and nice grouping. I like my Rossi’s, but the Marlin’s quality is noticed visually and while operating.
