glad things softened up as you made it down! when do you think the best time of year to do Shasta would be?
@owenstrolle2 ай бұрын
You can ski Shasta for most of the summer, plus the best time to ski depends on the route. Avalanche gulch, the route I did, could be skied into July on most years. A good website for info on routes and when to go is www.skimountaineer.com/CascadeSki/CascadeSkiMonths

Tried to ski this last week. Unfortunately a giant crevace forms in the middle during the melt. Good job getting it! Love the groans after each ice turn! I do the same haha

Do you bring avy gear when you ride the bowls and sidecountry?
@owenstrolle7 ай бұрын
If I'm just in the cliff bowl or on east peak I usually don't because I'm skiing solo. However, if you got the gear and a buddy might as well use it!

Always wanted to try this Faction skis but I stayed faithful to K2 ;), are they heavy for backcountry or not?
@owenstrolle8 ай бұрын
I love my Factions! They are actually lighter than comparable K2 Mindbender skis, and in my experience, a lot more nimble.
