They also kept accused witches in St .Fillans cave ,Janet Horseburgh being one, kept there for 3 months. Check out the book Weem Witch by Leonard Low.

This is great to see. Sad that so many tourists only see half of the city. A great new town walk I do regularly is gayfield square abercrombie place Heriot row william st to platform 5 haymarket.
