Looks great! Can you recommend me a kit that the mask will be made of latex? Does it work for faceprint?

Thanks for the feedback. Latex will not work with a silicone mold. Latex only works in plaster molds. Instead of latex you would use a silicone like DRAGON SKIN to brush or cast into the BODY DOUBLE negative mold. And yes, it will work for a faceprint.

Hallo, ich habe eine Frage zu Trennmittel. Ich möchte eine Silikonform (Mold Star 30) von einem 3D-Druck (raue Oberfläche) machen. Der 3D-Druck hat keine Hinterschattungen aber geht an manchen Stellen recht tief rein. Ich bekomme die Silikonform anschließend kaum vom 3D-Druck ab, weil es so extrem daran haftet. Was für ein Trennmittel nimmt man da? Ich lese in den Beschreibungen von Trennmitteln immer nur, dass es für die fertige Silikonform ist, wenn man daraus Abgüsse macht. Oder kann man das Trennmittel auch nehmen um Silikonformen zu erstellen? Oder ist es bei der starken Haftung besser ein Silikon mit niedriger Shore-Härte zu nehmen weil man es dann besser stück für stück abziehen kann und nicht durch die Steifigkeit des Mold Star 30 direkt alles abziehen muss? ich würde mich sehr über eine Antwort freuen! To product the mold you are looking at approx. 80 € here. Material cost to make one part is approx. 7 €. The highest one-time invest is of course the pressure chambre (approx. 1.000 €). Though the pressure chambre is very helpful to achieve perfect castings but is not mandatory.

@@MrGTAmodsgerman My pressure chamber was ~100€ (10l) but it needed some additional parts (+30€) because i converted a paint-system. the only difference is that the lock-nuts are not as handy. and please consider that all smoothon products are ridiculously overpriced if youre shopping outside the U.S. due to import taxes. they have some unique products like their flexfoams and wide pu casting resin range that justify the price. but for general mold making and casting you can usually get products for half the price with exact same quality (silicone rubber, laminating epoxy, rigid pu foams, pigments)

Nettes Video, aber ehrlich gesagt erschließt sich mir nicht der Sinn der ganzen Aktion. Ca. 500€ Materialkosten um eine Form herzustellen, die ich für einen Bruchteil des Geldes im Laden kaufen kann.

Da sie viele Silikon Mischungen im Kompressor bearbeiten ist bei diesen hier nicht der fall? Oder wurde dieser schritt hier bei übersprungen? Da ich ein Produkt suche wo ich kein Luftkompressor verwenden kann.

Für die sehr dünnflüssigen MOLD STAR Silikone ist eine Entlüftung in einer Vakuumkammer nicht notwendig. Bei anderen Silikonen ist dies auf Grund der höheren Viskosität (zähflüssiger) meistens zu empfehlen, um luftblasenfreie Formengüsse zu erhalten.

Das würde auch funktionieren. Allerdings ist es einfacher auf einer ebenen Fläche die Glasfasermatte mit dem Epoxidharz vorab zu durchtränken.

Cool Project, but what are the costs per mask on this way, ... On in a small batch of 100 pieces?

Including the cost for the molds (first mold + gang mold) the cost per mask is approx. 3 € when casting 100 pieces. The shown gang-mold can withstand at least 100 castings, more likely 200. So the more you can cast in one mold of course the lower the price per piece gets.
