Got a set of those wheelnuts a couple of years ago (probably about the time you made this video) and fitted them to my X Type. Every single nut had at least some visible rust after the first winter. I think the chrome plating is probably quite low quality. My recently acquired XF S has a mix of genuine Jaguar nuts (with all the issues you described to varying degrees) and these "eBay specials". The eBay specials have lots of rust spots like the ones on my X Type but worse. However, more worryingly a few have been thoroughly bashed up by a tyre fitter's impact gun to the point that they got firmly wedged in my socket. I'm not confident the steel is as good as the Jaguar / Ford originals. Summary: neither OEM or after-market offer a good long-term solution.

What does the intake temp change too when you have the cones on it aswell like your supposed to?
@69racer693 ай бұрын
Because they are in the engine bay where all the heat coming off the engine is instead of being sealed in a box with the cold air feed. If you can isolate the cones away from engine bay air then you won’t get the problem from the cones. But the intake itself is also getting hot as the metal is transferring the engine bay heat to the air inside it.

Great information to share ... thanks. You used Eibach Pro springs, right? I'm considering going down this route for my 5.0 XF too, but I can only find Eibach Pro spring kits for the early 4.2 XF, not for the 5.0. Can you tell me, please, which Eibach kit you used? Also, after a couple of years, how are your springs holding up? I've read some comments in forums that Eibach springs start to sag after a short time. Has the ride height on your XFR lowered much in last 2 years? Are you still happy with the ride and handling? Thanks in advance and for all the info.😁

Yeah it’s the same kit, I did a video on them, they don’t list a kit for the 5.0L but they’re exactly the same. Ride is still great, they settled nicely. Good value I would say, and don’t ruin the jag feel too much. Did you see my spring video?

@@69racer69 Thanks for the reply with the helpful info. Yes, I saw your video on the spring replacement quite some time ago.
