How did you managed to get job in Swedan?
@NiklasHeКүн бұрын
I went to university in Sweden and then found the job via Linkedin

thanks for sharing .i am curious if I plan to work in Sweden do I need to learn Swedish. I know English and Chinese now. i just finish my master degree of cs in us ,how to get relevant job in Sweden?
@NiklasHeКүн бұрын
Some companies prefer people who can speak Swedish but it defenietly isn't a must. English is enough to get a job since anyone can speak English here, especially in the tech industry. There are a lot of Indians and Chinese in the company I work. I found my job through Linkedin.

Seems much more chill than my day as a software engineer in the US, but WOW. $4,000 a month. I know its not all about the money, but wow... I think most software engineers in the US would decline a job if they offered DOUBLE that.
@NiklasHeКүн бұрын
Yes salaries here are not comparable to the US, like the seniors who has worked 25+ years maybe make 8k USD before taxes. Living in Sweden is probably also a lot cheaper. I save around 1k USD every month.
@2ossyКүн бұрын
Would that be 8000 before tax? And all includes? I also have 3 yoe as a swe in europe and make about 4500 euro before tax. But that does not include pension, transport, bonus, holiday allowance etc. In total i make 75k euro a year. 82k dollar. Working 9 days every 2 weeks plus 6 weeks paid time off.
@jakepiz19 сағат бұрын
@@NiklasHe 8k here is a good starting salary, what you would get for your first job after college, and taxes here are lower too. but of course on the flip side, you have to pay for health care, you have to save more for retirement, etc. I make about 12k, and save about 5k a month, but I save a lot more than most people I feel like.

As someone who has lived in Shanghai for the past 15 years I can definitely say it is cheap. I am from Australia and it's about 1/2 to live in Shanghai as a comparison. I travel in Asia frequently for work and would say Shanghai is now cheaper than Singapore, HK, All of Japan, All of Taiwan, even BKK and HCMC are more expensive for some things eg. Eating, public transport, taxis, and rent. Yes, if you live Jingan you will pay.....but Minhang, Huangpu, Pudong etc are great value .... especially rent. We rent a great 3b 2b 127 meter apartment in a nice complex fully furnished for 1200usd per month. (And prices are dropping). Here's a quick idea in USD Metro ride = 60c to $1.max A bottle of water =.30c everywhere Taxi 3kms or less = $2 Big bowl of noodles with meat/veg = $4-$5 Big Mac=.$3.5 A pint of beer = $3 - $9 Beer in 711 = $1.5 And the cheapest is supermarket fresh meat n vegetables. Hope this helps

Housing you're lucky... I was there for 10 years and the cheapest 1bdr apt was 8k ( Gao You RD). Also... Clubbing... Didn't calculate? Also clothing (it's not just a hat). Then you have the insurance... Then slightly more dinners out... Then the lunch & breakfast aren't that that cheap neither... So I'd say you'd need around 25-30k (RMB) or around 3-4 k USD to live good... Not luxury but good👍
@NiklasHe21 күн бұрын
Thanks for comment :) When I searched there were a lot under 6k per month, I also lived in an old building. Went clubbing once and probably never doing it again since smoking was allowed inside. Most people were smoking. I have somehow really managed to remove the desire to buy new clothes. I can promise that the food prices are a accurate. 25k RMB per month would mean like eating out every day, every meal. That would make me stressed since the food is not that healthy when eating out.
