They look like old Reo trucks from the 70s. if they just didn't overload the trucks capabilities it would save them so much grief. Perhaps they could use the trucks to cart rocks to fill i the road trenches.

Skilled drived, backing up is the best way if you have a heavy load and AWD it will show Early problems with the road therefore easier too detirmine if it plausable going uphill anyway

You need to put much, much more weight on the wagon to give wheels traction..they work best when buried up to the axles...
