Racing homers can also be entered in the Pigeon Show and then they are a judged according to what a racing homer supposed to look like and feel like not so much first one home

I’ve done something similar for quail, chickens and emu chicks with splayed legs. They tend to heal up nicely.

Yup, the pairs should have been on lights for 18 hrs a day, from about 2 - 3 weeks prior to pairing up. That makes a big difference.
