I had a lot of running goals this year, but literally tore my ACL skiing yesterday (RIP). Soooo I’m hoping to pivot and lean into more of my other hobbies like cooking/baking/bread making/etc. I also play piano and haven’t touched it in so long, so maybe it will be the year of also slowing down for me 😅
@mollyohernandez2 күн бұрын
Omg Hannah I am soooo sorry to hear this!! Something like that is so tough to deal with, I hope you are being extra kind to yourself!! Definitely lean into those hobbies and other ways to find joy -- running will ALWAYS be there for you!

Thanks for sharing Molly! I also love goals and planning :) My biggest goal this year is to finally start a blog I’ve been stewing on for too many years now. I know that’s going to be a lot of work! So, otherwise I’m also looking to chill out this year and just lean into enjoying my hobbies.

How FUN!!! That is such a big and exciting goal, so excited for you!

I don't really like to set goals but I am moving interstate in a few months, and my focus for the year is to enjoy it. 2024 was really hard, lots of downs and while there were a lot of positives and achievements, they were really outweighed by the negativities. Moving with a fresh start, hopefully having a bit more of a social life and running for fun around a new area will make it a better year this year. I love your goals for the year, I think sometimes having non measurable goals is good to balance out so you're not pressuring or restricting yourself too much! 2025 is going to hopefully be a wonderful year and I am excited to watch you continue to grow on here

I 100% resonate with how you feel about 2024! Sounds like a fresh start could be a huge help, change of scenery always really helps me!! Cheering you on!!

I loved the video! Some of my goals include reduce spending on dumb stuff that I don't care about, go on a big adventure this summer post-100 mile race, and explore more art (movies, new music, shows, etc)! Goal setting is seriously so much fun.

Ok LOOOOVE all those goals!! Sounds like you are going to have an amazing year!! And good luck with your training!!!

This is so interesting. As a fellow runner, I’ve always wondered what goes into the training and prep for an ultramarathon. I don’t plan to ever run one, but I really enjoy hearing about all the things you have to plan for. Your crew is going to be amazing for supporting you! You go Molly!

Such a joyful video! Way to crush your 22 miler 🥳 I'm a Midwesterner training for a 50 miler and am about to move over to the treadmill for the season, can you share the youtuber you talked about? And anything else you've liked even. I need some good youtube content, I've exhausted all of Billy Yang and Sally McRae's videos!

Amazing!! Just wondering - do you care about pace when you do these long runs? Or just focused on hitting the miles?
@mollyohernandez14 күн бұрын
It depends!! For the most part, no, but some runs I do have some speed work in there and other times I just like to push myself for the confidence boost I get when I can hit my targeted pace! But just like to share because I know people enjoy hearing what the pace is!

Oh yeah, chafing is a concern. I always use my body glide before a run. Many ultra runners swear by silicone based sex lube. It’s sweat and water proof and stays put for those loooong runs. REI outlet has a few running vests on sale right now and REI has the waist lamps too. Good luck and happy running. 👍🏻🏃🏻♀️👟
