Grunge was so anti scene that it became a scene lol. Looking back the style of rock they played didn't matter, it was an attitude of substance over style and that's what really hooked everyone

When ever I got the chance to listen to Layne Staley and Chris Cornell they jumped to my top 5 favorites of all time real quick. So tragic and heartbreaking to lose these amazing souls. They did a real good job I used to stay with one of sound guys and promoter of Alice in chains and they were one my favorite bands before that even but after being in studio trying to vocals I was happy because I could do a lot of their music and sounded good some bands I couldn't..Soo I say these guys were great tribute to awesome musician
