Hi Ryan, thanks for another awesome video. I didn't bother copy pasting my comment from your Patreon early access video as I didn't think my advice in it was that helpful really, plus Talonmort gave some good advice anyway. Although the one thing I would disagree with them on is covering yourself in Mud. Yes, it does give the advantages they say, but it will also guarantee you get Camp Fever or Typhus, which is really hard to deal with, especially as your Immune system is really low.

The easiest way to get a smokehouse is by building a fireplace in a cave. The problem is that you have to tend the fire every single day for 14 days for it to work, which is just a pain in the ass and stops you progressing or even subsisting in the meantime. That's why I normally have some villagers do that for me. As a hermit, I'd avoid smoking food and find other reliable sources of nutrition, as you already have so much other work to do. Find yourself a lake with lake reeds and you'll save yourself endless amounts of work needed just to stay alive, so you'll be able to make progress much quicker. The value of a kota is that it's a warm house you can easily move around and build in a day once you have the materials.

Yeah the mi-go can open doors, that diagonal thing I believe was fixed a while back. The 5.56 nato rounds works fine for the m4, not an American, so don't really know guns, but I'm pretty sure Remington is more for civilian use. NPC's have a fear meter, and yeah they were likely running from the Jabberwock, its a pretty terrifying creature. I'm sure there was another npc by the building north of the Jabberwock as well, can always fix the joinee's broken perk to replace deandrea. Maybe dissect the Jabberwock, you might get its heart.

Hey Ryan, thanks for another entertaining video! I understand exactly what you mean with the catch 22 on the Kiln, even when a run is going well for we I feel myself getting pulled in multiple directions with all of the projects I want to get done. Please do not take my thoughts/tips as me telling you how to play the game. I simply want to offer an additional perspective. I enjoy watching your approach to solving the challenges you are faced with. I just enjoy sharing my thoughts on how I would have approached the challenge. I saw that you got crafting xp when you went from 75% to 100% on the bone flute, so I'm pretty sure that success chance on that is tied to your "Crafting" skill, not "Woodworking" as I originally was assuming in a previous comment, so I apologize about the misinformation. Sacks and Baskets can fit inside the Travois, and the Travois will give them a weight reduction (You were Yellow encumbered at one point in the video, and putting the sack inside the Travois may have saved you 15m, not a huge deal, but 15m is 15m XD). Most things fit in the Travois. The only things that will not go into the Travois are certain Liquid containers. There are 3 kinds of liquid containers; "Open" Containers (coconut shells, clay vases), "Closed" Containers (Clay Jars, Cooking Pots, Glazed Vases), and "Sealed" Containers (Plastic Bottle, Perforated Coconut, and Canteen (I remember the water skin and jerrycan being sealed, but I have not tested them recently so I don't know if they are still considered "sealed"). The "Sealed" variety can go in the Travois when they have liquid, "Open" and "Closed" cannot. Traps on the beaches during the 'wet' season may be more effort than they are worth. Both the Deadfall and Fish traps can be lost during a storm, so it is really up to you how much effort you want to put into something that may blow away in the next storm.

Hey Ryan, Love your style and content as ever!! I've put some hours into this game so I offer some advice. I've slept, in the park about 4 times and ended up getting dog every time I did. Might be luck but I doubt it! Worth testing anyway. Also, Never beg from the old lady with the shopping trolley. She's a cynical meany. As you've noticed the mother and child gives higher beg chance and so does having a dog.. I hear you say its 50/50 chance with the begging options, but i'm not sure thats right. In many hours of play I've never once had money from the "I need it for my family" option. Also.. Big advice for this game is that flask and Apple juice + relevant perks is a game changer. Also that vending machines and street vendors are always cheaper than shops.. Also, never study or wait for benefits with less then 35/40 hunger. You, will tank your happiness. Claiming benefits or housing/job assistance gives you "boring waiting time" that downs your happiness regardless.

Now you've got the hammer I'd focus on hunting another animal for when your food runs out or goes bad. If you can find a lake with lake reeds, you'll be able to harvest a huge amount of roots for flour and scoop fish out of the water easily with a club soon. Various fish species love to spawn around lake reeds when the summer starts to turn to autumn. One small lake can set you up for winter. Lake reed roots can be eaten raw as well as ground into flour. They should be in season right now, so look around for some!

Just for clarification: You (your character) cannot "return to the reality bubble". You ARE the reality bubble, which is about 2.5 over-map tiles wide in all directions, and you (your character) are "dragging" this bubble around with you. Everything (with some exceptions) outside this bubble freezes in time. Only the world inside your reality bubble is interactive in time. So, you can never leave that bubble, only items, monsters, terrain, asf. can be, or get outside of it.

Condelences for your loss. Other than that, your other companion probably hopped out to investigate the sounds of the muffler, lol. Disable "investigate noises" from her config. I had one that would jump out for combat no matter what her config, and further investigstion revealed that she had a combat rage trait that would kick in ocassionally and over-ride her config. -- edit. You can assign seating in the "crew" tab of the vehicle.

Great vid! I enjoyed the little cliffhanger at the end XD. The mermaid seems to have 2 main problems right now; her low mood, and the parasite infection. I had a few to many thoughts on the subject, and I ended up writing a bit too much so I will include a TL:DR 1. The Mermaid needs entertainment to combat stress and raise mood a morning and evening Dive + Sandcastle can take the edge off. 2. Infection is kicking your butt. Escape from Seahounds to raise stealth - DO NOT ENGAGE UNTIL YOU HAVE MORE SPEAR FIGHTING 2b. Pin your infection and dose yourself with Spider Lily when the infection IS INCREASING (green up triangle) OR STALLED (black dash). As your Immune System recovers this will save you Spider Lily. As long as the infection IS NOT DECREASING you need Spider Lily to cure it. 3. Letting your brews evaporate wastes their effectiveness. Not a huge deal, but you need all the Spider Lilly you can get. 4. Mud is important. Life will be difficult until you have a stove and the ability to cook meals and preserve Spider Lily/Ginger. 5. It is daytime in the Wetlands. I would dig some mud and apply it to your body for Sun Protection and to keep up your Skin humidity. Before reevaluating if pushing to find the Spider Lily is worth the risk of burns. My Thoughts About the Mermaid's Situation: 1. Manage stress - Entertainment is your counter to stress. The ways I know of to increase entertainment are; Playing an Instrument (Wind/Drums), Carving, Fishing (line/pole), Diving, and Building Sandcastles. The upside is all of these activities also boost mood. So it ends up being a double whammy by increasing Entertainment (which acts like an "anti-stress" stat), and bumping up mood at the same time. 1a. Carving - Carving is a nice 15m task (similar to cordage). working the bone flute should up your woodworking skill, which should eventually unlock the Wood Carvings. (While I am training woodworking, I normally don't take a piece above 75% completion until I get woodworking to about 50 as the chance to ruin the project goes down with skill level) 1b. Fishing - Fishing acts as an Entertainment activity when you fish with a Fishing Line, or a Fishing Pole. The activity takes 1h, so I would only recommend only using this for entertainment, and not for food, as spearfishing is more productive for food. 1c. Diving - Diving is a great activity (30m with a chance of resource pickup), just use caution when diving in the bay, as there is a shark, and it thinks you are tasty :P 2. Infection - Getting mood up should help out with infection as well as drinking Spider Lily tea. 2a. Mood - Increases Immune System, at higher levels it will let you stretch your tea a bit more. 2b. My Tea Dosing Strategy - For infection the most important stat is going to be your "Infection" stat, I would pin it (in this instance it would be the Seahound Parasites). I would focus less on the "Immune System" and "Spider Lily Effect" stats as they are going to be effecting the "Seahound Parasite" stat. The "Seahound Parasite" stat has an arrow next to it. This next part is the important bit: If the arrow next to the infection (Seahound Parasite) is a Green Triangle pointing up, or a Black Dash: YOU NEED SPIDER LILLY! If the arrow next to the infection (Seahound Parasite) is a Red Triangle pointing down: YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM IS DOING ITS JOB! No additional tea/antibiotics needed. This will allow you to stretch your tea out, by using your Immune System to do what it can, and using the Tea to fortify it. This is in contrast to using the tea/antibiotic to overpower your Immune System (which is what happens if you time it with the Spider Lily Effect bar). You could try to time it with the Immune System bar, but I feel it is less reliable as you are more concerned with the infection than your immune system. 2c. Combat With Seahounds - Until you have Spear fighting at 50 you will be giving them free hits. You will gain less infection if you run away rather than fight and take hits. Train Stealth by running away this will eventually allow you to surprise your foes and get a free hit in first/run away without triggering a fight (usually around 50). Train Spear fighting twice per day. I would train with the broom, as it is cheap to replace, and the mermaid is immune to cave dirt%. When I am training Spear fighting I train once when I wake up, and once before I go to sleep. Add in hunting during the day, and you hit 50 fast. 3. Proper Brewing - Each brew is only as effective as the amount of liquid you are able to drink (as it evaporates it loses potency due to less liquid). Therefore I would suggest adopting one of the following strategies: 3a. Brew on Demand - Only add the substance to water when you are ready to consume. 3b. Brew and Store - Brews can be stored in any covered container, they will not evaporate, but they will spoil after some time. 4. The importance of Mud - Mud seems to be fairly crucial to the Mermaid's survival as the stove offers protection from burning food, and cooking pots will allow you to make meals that will help to keep the Mermaid Satiated. The Kiln is your first requirement. The Stove would be my pick, the depression and nausea are unlikely to improve for a while, so I think it makes more sense to plan for it than fight against it for right now (once the infection is taken care of this should change). Total cost for this is 34 Mud, 34 Temper, and 6 sticks, but I would grab more for some cooking pots and at least 1 clay jar (I like them cuz they use half the water and wash as much as a full portion). This should be fairly do-able as long as you grab some mud on your way back home when you are looking for Spider Lily. You already have plenty of Temper (sand) right outside your cave. You can also make bricks as you cook (they have a base time of 15m). 4a. Kiln - 20 Mud, 20 Temper, and 2 Sticks (10 Mud Brick + 2 Sticks) + (10 Mud Brick) 4b. Stove - 14 Mud, 14 Temper, 4 Sticks (8 Mud Brick + 2 Sticks) + (6 Mud Brick + 2 Sticks) 5. Burn Risk - You are in the Wetlands during the day. You have a sun allergy and you are about to start burning. If the mermaid gets 3rd degree burns I don't know that she will be able to recover with the parasites. Here is the good news, she is in the wetlands, she can cover herself in mud, and that will give you some sun protection. That being said, I don't if it is going to be enough to continue the exploration during the middle of the day. Thanks again for the great vid! I wish you success with the run!

Hey! Just making sure I was clear enough about needing a roof over the back. The entire back of the truck where the cargo is happens to be open to the sky - think very large pickup truck - and moving the back windows to the rear of the cargo area opened the cab up. Now any flying thing like wasps, dematiks and flesh raptors can get into your vehicle. any roof will do - I use sheet metal gotten from lockers very often - as the roof is very rarely targeted or damaged. Just need it directly over the cargo spaces and isle, if in doubt check on the vehicle screen if there is a roof or not. Boards and Quarter panels do not need roofs.

Rather than just ditching the windows, I would have chosen to "place" them on the ground. That way, one day I might find them again with room in the inventory.
