Don't sweat moving the pumpkins right now , wait to see if you get any pumpkins grown , you can make seeds from whole pumpkins. another aspect of pro-pick readings, the percentage is the amount of that chunk the ore might spawn in, if that helps any - tin is always a low percentage even if the reading says decent of ultra high. casserite just spawns in small nodes usually. you'll have to keep from spooking the hen so she sits on the eggs to hatch. You can a bit, just don't wanna prolong spooking em. Occasionally she will lay outside the box, you can pick those up and use for cooking. ( or rot ) when smelting metals you always wanna try to do batches of 100's , like in your pour for anvil, you had it at 1010 units , which would be 900 for anvil , and 100 for an ingot or a pick axe, with 10 melted units left over. While thats not exactly "useless" metal, it's just harder to re-melt, or pour out and measure to fill a mold , especially if you are needing a specific ore, and you ran out of that type. So we try to plan around using em in units of hundred. and as long as you play with the nuggies , i do believe all alloys will have a certain number of each that'll always end in an even fill amount. I know tin bronze and black bronze myself way more than bismuth bronze. I think out of these couple years i've played, I have made one bismuth anvil cause the world I spawned in, didn't have tin in my local rock strata. ( if i find bismuth , as it's usually not an ore I look for , but if i come across it and mine it , it has a low smelting temp , and i generally make plates out of it, and get some wild looking lanterns. ) When you are casserite poor, of course is next best option for obtaining needed bronze like you are doing. if you don't need the copper anvil after pouring the bronze one , you can chisel it back to copper nuggies as well. temporal storms I agree after experiencing em once, is just basically an annoyance. The only good they do, is two headed drifters always drop temporal gears ( lets you set spawn point, and fix translocators ) , but every great once in a while, normal drifters will drop those gears too. I always turn off land instability , i might not if playing multiplayer, but single player it just didn't really feel like it was anything more than annoyance. I always turn off rifts, but drifters still spawn in dark even if you do. Same reasons, just annoying. you asked about pro pick, honestly I have never ran out or broken even a copper pro pick , and once i get iron one, seems to last even more as you tend to use the pro-pick way less. One vet tip i can give, is you can take off your furs to save it's durability when it's not cold ;) But after year one , flax harvest always seems abundant, so repairing clothes not as big deal. on the lanterns , you can also increase light level by replacing the clear quarts with glass slabs. You can also line em if you ever get enough gold or silver for a plate. I think base lantern is light level 18 , with glass slabs raises to light level 20, and 21 for lined with glass slabs. In order to replace , just hold two glass slabs in hand, look at lantern placed on ground, and click to add glass. You don't get the clear quarts back i don't think. you get glass by smelting quarts chunks in the bloomery same as iron. Slabs is glass block, cut with saw. ( and so ya know, some traders might have colored glass from time to time, using colored slabs, will make that lantern have that color light cast. I prefer white light, but is options for decore lighting if ever desired. Changing glass slabs can always be done on any lantern. So say you change one to green , or olivine, glass slabs , you can change it back , even switch colors as long as you got the glass anytime. ) Another excellent episode! ( I bet you are excited for that bronze! Now you can get that iron, and the borax for leather! )

I just started VS a few days ago and thought the same thing about the temporal storms and disabled them as well. The novelty is cool at first, seeing giant mechanized beasts and such but thereafter it became apparent to me that they just interrupt the game for me. Maybe later when I understand the game better I'll enable them. I do still have the gear though and so I can stumble into unstable areas.

Playing single player , i will say eventually going deep caving, you will find enough bad drifters a plenty , locust and saw blades and bells too. The storms i get the devs added to give flavor, but after first few times it is just an annoyance really. Multiplayer they can be a bit funner, having someone one watching your back, or even make a contest on who slays the most storm drifters ... , but even then it can get old too.

Eggs! I haven't raised chickens yet, but from what I've read you'll need to keep the hens fed to make them broody so that they'll incubate the fertile eggs. Congrats on the bronze! You're all set to mine that iron, and you'll probably get enough to upgrade most of your tools to that and not worry about copper or bronze for tools anymore, though you might need a few extra hammers while working your iron blooms into ingots. The hammer's material type doesn't matter like the anvil does, so you can use copper hammers on iron. Almost panicked a bit when you made that zinc into ingots, but thankfully you can break them with no loss. You can recycle your old copper anvil with a chisel now, which will give back 8 ingots that can be broken back down into nuggets. You're really locking down on using the propick, nice. Since you asked, the material used for it doesn't matter besides durability as long as you're just using it on regular stone, although technically a copper propick wouldn't be able to break blocks like quartz or iron if you decided to prospect on one of those blocks for some reason. About the pear trees you planted, they still need more time. If it successfully roots, it'll change into a tree stem on the block info box, and if it fails it'll look dead and can be chopped for a couple pieces of firewood. Thanks for the fun video!

You will have a need for copper for some post iron things - no need to waste iron on nails for example. Copper chutes and hoppers when you get some automation. Copper is needed for something to do with distilleries too. All your hand tools can be iron of course, you was right on that part, i just didn't want other readers/watchers thinking once you got iron, the copper days was completely over.

lol I was watching him make those zinc ingots saying Nooooooo! at the screen, glad to learn they can be reclaimed. I wish I'd made it clearer that he would get seeds back from pumpkins but when HARVESTED, I gave him the impression he could just dig up the seedlings by not being clear lol... Eggs can be boiled in a pan with water and keep about 20 days in cellar storage. There's more recipies but I forget which ones are from mods and which from vanilla. HD you should move your chickens to a quieter place away from where you regularly walk/work and keep em fed, happy mammas make more babies, fat ones lay more eggs. Congratz on the bronze age.

If you’d like a bit of advice on combat: spears suck as melee weapons, unless you want the range. They deal less than half the damage when stabbed rather than thrown. The copper spear, for example, deals 2 melee damage and 5.75 ranged. The most basic melee weapon, the wooden club, deals 1.5 damage per hit. Unless you really like the range, I’d recommend making a bronze falx (but note, despite the description, it does NOT deal bonus damage to drifters). Tin/Bismuth bronze falx deal 4.25 per hit, and 4.75 for black bronze. Your best bet is to throw the spears and clean up with a falx, if the play style appeals to you. A shield is also helpful here. You can also get normal swords, but I think they’re all treasure loot. I’d agree the storms are annoying early game. They’re much more fun when you’re properly geared and want a challenge, plus monster drop rates are increased. I still find myself sleeping through half of them, though, as it can still be pretty difficult. Figuring out the mining holes is good, it makes finding ore much less frustrating! You’re well on your way to being picky about the materials/colors you make your lanterns out of! Can’t wait to see what your next adventure is :)

Played this game extensively awhile back. I'll never give spoilers, but when you ask questions on your videos I know the answer to, I'll let you know. A few times now you've been surprised by disease popping up. If you attack a decayed zombie with a melee weapon, instant disease. Either ranged weapons or Spears (which can attack diagonally) negates that. Also, zombies migrate zone to zone towards you during the night (not at day). They spawn from the dangerous places. Hope that helps. Love your stuff my guy!

Hi Ryan, thanks for another awesome video. Commiserations on accidentally destroying one of your Salt Beds. To be fair its easily done and I don't think there is a confirm button for it. You have a spare one anyway and more than enough Salt to be going on with. Glad you are varying your diet a bit now 😛. You can make Coconut Milk from a Blueprint which will take 2 pieces of Coconut Meat and produce a full bowl of Coconut Water btw. Which will save a bit of irl time. If you do go exploring, good places to go are the Secret Valley (from the Wetlands) to find Rice and the Western Highlands (from the Western Grasslands) to get to the Eastern Highlands to find Copper Ore for Copper Tools. (If you go through the Grasslands to the Highlands take a Waterskin or 2 of Salt water to wash your eyes in case a Cobra spits in them though.) The Hunters Stealth and Spearfighting skills probably mean he'll be able to kill Cobras before they can spit in his eyes however. You can also get to the Western Highlands from the Jungle Highlands if you want to climb up there from the Wetlands. When playing other characters its best to do most tasks in your Shed/Mud Hut/Stone Hut unless its raining to avoid getting serious illnesses from Bug Bites. You can also make and apply Bug Repellent if you need to do stuff outside. You use a knife on Cinchona Trees to get its Bark to make Quinine to cure Malaria if you get it from really excessive amounts of Bug Bites. Again, all completely moot points for the Hunter as hes immune to serious diseases from the Immunised Perk. You need Sharks Teeth for the Serrated Club btw. The first Shark you kill you should use its Jaws to make the Headpiece you need to as one of the necessary steps to win the game with the Hunter. You can make the Serrated Club from the second Shark you kill. Serrated Clubs are spiritual weapons that are more effective against the imaginary? foes you face when your mental structure/perception is skewed.

Try using the shift + u command when you're standing near the bag. That should bring up the unload screen and allow you to take the cashews out and put where do you want. Also if they happen to be in a vehicle sometimes your character gets squished into tight places like the cab of a car or a truck and can't pick things up. If these cashews are in a car try standing next to it on the street then pick up the item. I hope that helps

Pumpkins need room to expand, think pumpkin patch , which i believe is a 5x5 area they can grow around where you plant. Animals do not eat pumpkins as of yet, so you can do a patch literally anywhere. They do not grow wild currently , only found in ruins. Cabbage is also only ruin/vessel finds , and is probably the best veggie in game.

If you want to remake that hammer work item into something else, you'll need to combine it with a chisel in the crafting grid to turn it into nuggets, then re-melt it and cast it into a mold, either an ingot or something else. Also, that lead under your house will be useful for making lanterns. Lead plates themselves can't make lanterns, but lead + copper makes an alloy called Molybdochalkos, which doesn't have much use besides making plates to make lanterns and other crafting that's not tools or armor. You've got enough regular quartz to smelt into glass for at least one batch, you just need to build a bloomery from some fire clay bricks, then load it with quartz and charcoal and light it up. Once you've got glass blocks, cut them with a saw into slabs, then all you'll need to make lanterns is candles, so getting an area prepped for a bee farm with lots of flowers would be a good project in the near future. Edit: The reason why you couldn't add that ingot to the plate you were working on is that you already turned it into a plate work item when you dropped it on the anvil, then put it back into the forge to heat up more. You can't add a work item on top of another work item, you need to put a hot ingot on it. Edit2: That pear tree had a few more branches on it under the leaves. Leaves grow off of branches, and branches grow off stems, and the trees you cut will grow again when its warm enough, so check on them again after a few months. Edit3: That zinc was a good find! You can definitely mine bismuth with a copper pick, so if you know where bismuth ore is then go get it! If you can smelt 1000 units of bronze, then make 1 bronze pick and an anvil, then you can go mine that iron and skip right ahead to iron tools! Last Edit: I haven't grown pumpkins before, they're a pretty rare find from ruins, but from what I've seen in other videos they don't grow like other plants. One pumpkin plant makes a vine that spreads out a few blocks from where it was planted, so generally you want to plant them next to a water block, with the plant at the center of like a 5x5 square of bare ground. Those ones you planted might be a little crowded, but they also might vine out and cover your garden, can't wait to see what they do! Thanks again for the videos, lots of fun watching!

Everyone seems to go for Moly lanterns, and i have never figured out why. Well i suppose it "saves" on a few copper bits per plate? Usually my first lantern or two is copper cause i normally already have a few plates made by time i find bees/obtain candles. Nothing wrong with Molychoc , i just kinda wondered since what metal used for lanterns is aestetic only, why it seemed to be a fav of many. last live stream, i encouraged Hardware to go ahead and use the clear quarts, a candle, and copper plate so he can see the IG difference between oil lamp, torches, and lantern light levels. Glass slabs is better of course ( raises from light level 18 to light level 20 ) , but at the time he was out of fireclay, not fired any bricks for bloomeries.

@@toadsquishgaming2422 I just like Moly for lanterns because there isn't much else to use lead for from what I've seen, so if it's nearby may as well dig it and use it. I just got to iron tools in my game on year 3, so being economical with copper made sense when I'm still using it to make copper/bronze tools, but you're right in that it's not that big of a deal once you get iron tools established.

You can put the copper hammer head into a bloomery to smelt it back into an ingot. You can also do this with tools you removed too many voxels on while smithing them, rather than needing to add another ingot to finish them! The ingot you were trying to add to your plate was actually the hammer head (the ‘work item’), which was why it wasn’t working, it needs to be an ingot.
