The actual fix is to ditch the Briggs and Stratton carb and buy a cheap Chinese carb from Amazon. I have that mower. The Briggs carb stopped working well after 1 year. My Chinese carb has had it starting on first pull for the past 11 years. It has also lived outside for its entire life through midwest winters.

The earlier versions of this carb were great, then 15 or so years ago they had to make them meet strict standards and they tended to plug up the main jet way easier

Another way to get the tire to reseal to the rim, if all fails, is spray a little ether, and light it... keep fingers away from the rim cause if you could get them pinched.

I don’t think that’s a good way of doing it because you will be directly connecting your tow battery with your car battery. It is not a good idea to directly connect different sizes types, and brands of battery.. I do believe there is a diode in your factory trailer charging system that prevents voltage back feed from your trailer battery even when you are driving. that’s why you must have the trailer brake connected or at least make your vehicle think it is connected to a trailer brake system. Also, you will have to connect your turn signals through your trailer connection in order to fool your vehicle into thinking you have a travel trailer behind you.. There is a video where a guy is trying to charge a Jaackiee and he did a beautiful wiring hack.

On a scale of 1 - 10, I'd rate myself about 3. So when my 15-year-old Toro mower began stalling out, I despaired. But... I followed Jim's clear steps (using a vise-grip tool to crimp the fuel hose and Berryman B-12 Chemtool carburetor/throttle cleaner from Lowe's), and lo and behold, I'm back in business! Thanks, Jim!

@@bbbjim1fixedit Jim, My freezer is on the BOTTOM. I looked around its ice maker and saw a frozen chunk of ice. I unplugged it as you wisely said and will let it thaw tonight and then remove the freezer's back panel and clean everything. I am unsure how so much water got into the upper compartment through the dampener in the UP direction. Any thoughts? Thanks so much, Jim.- Johnny

1) You need to use valve grinding compound, not wet and dry sandpaper on valves and 2) you need to use a feeler gauge to set the valve clearance. And don't grind a flat valve stem on a circular wheel, worst case use the side of the wheel

What does this auto start/stop do.? Is it similar to a brake hold?
@bbbjim1fixedit
@bbbjim1fixedit 29 күн бұрын
when you come to a stop and have your foot on the brake the engine will stop and then restart when you take your foot off the brake. it saves on fuel if you are at long traffic lights yet can be annoying when in slow moving traffic where you drive a car length and stop then move again. The button on the dash can be depressed to shut this feature off, yet it resets to auto after you first start up the vehicle. The brake hold is a separate system where you can activate it and take your foot off the brake pedal to give your foot a rest when stopped for a while.
