The music is hauntingly beautiful. RR 's interpretation of and performance as Dracula is outstanding! He is by far the most devastatingly handsome, charming, hypnotic, elegant, witty, clever , diabolical and convincing Dracula ever......he is the "quintessential" Dracula!

This music by Peter Gundry fits the choreography perfectly. Both feature films would have been much more successful with this composition.

Interesting how you stitched Phantom of the Opera with Van Helsing. It actually distracts from the music.

I've always wanted to go to the masked ball in Venice as I have an image in my head of it being like this. Maybe one day. This is beautiful.

This scene is a cross between "Interview With a Vampire" 1994 and Polanski's "The Fearless Vampire Killers" from 1967. The girl dancing surrounded by vampires but only her reflection is seen in a mirror, is straight out of TFVK. In that movie (a comedy horror) Sarah Shagal was played by Polanski's future wife, Sharon Tate, later murdered by the Manson family. Sarah Shagal was kidnapped by the vampire Count Krolok. Count Krolok had a son, Herbert, who was gay, and also a vampire. IMHO "The Fearless Vampire Killers" aka "Dance of the Vampires" was the best vampire movie ever made. It was also very funny. It was never a great success in the light of what happened to Sharon Tate, subsequently, but it has since become something of a cult late night classic. One brilliant bit is when Shagal, the Jewish innkeeper, later vampire, is about to attack his servant girl. She holds out a large crucifix, and he laughs. "Oy, have you got the wrong vampire".
