Always enjoy interpretations of this tune. Usually in a piano trio.

Another pianist who has always fascinated me is the American Warren Bernhardt. For me, he is a worthy heir of the great Bill Evans. Bernhardt’s style is so similar to Evans' that I recognize him after only two notes. A perfect example is his original interpretation of "Jan In January". This song, written by Bernhardt himself, is part of the album "Hands On" from 1986, where he is accompanied by talented musicians such as Peter Erskine on drums and Marc Johnson on bass.Bellissimo.

Raise Up Off Me-great book. unlike the Art Pepper auto, he talks alot about music. I read Art's book several times though it might make a Taratinosque film. Hampton's book was very positive and he seemed like a really cool person who admitted he messed up like we all do. Really had some talent. The album he made with Martial is realLy good it's in the TUBE

Would it be possible for you to provide the details about your source for this recording? I'm assuming it's a CD because the quality is flawless. I've heard a live version of this song on various Vic Damone "Live from Vegas" CD releases, but I can't track down a stereo studio version. Did you find this on a compilation CD? Beautiful recording.
