I've got 4 more 372's all stripped and cleaned now for winter rebuilding. Along with 2 254's, 4 346's, 2 200T's, a 357 and 2 350's which will take up some dark evenings 😂 I always put the bearings into the cases first. Bearings in the freezer heat the cases with heat gun and cold down with compressed air. I then use the oem installation tools to pull the crankshaft through, they're pretty reasonably priced and assemble perfectly with the crank free spinning straight off I certainly recommend the investment! I do also use the heating the bearing with an old drill press arbour, only heat until you feel the bearing seizing otherwise you'll blue it. But only use that for crankshafts I can't use the oem tools on. Aftermarket chain brake parts are junk😂 I bought 1 lot never again. I've also been buying exhausts 5 at a time from ft for yrs now always open and cheap that's why I buy them.

Honest review Richard! I am disappointed and wondering how reviewers can comment that this is such great product quality, where neither quality nor service exists. They look cool but the military look is all in your imagination, but it's just basic fleece material, no cool technology here, no protection against the rain or snow. No wind protection, not warm at all, you cannot get it wet or it will lose what little insulating factor it might have had. Buying a cheap hoodie will keep you warmer and protected better than this will. Stay away from Baerskin!

Hi bud I have used a few farmertec cylinders now and the quality is mot bad at all . Like I said in the video though everything to get to me from there comes from China and for a kit saw I would be 200 quid or so then 100 for shipping and 100 for import tax ...last time I got some stuff from USA the items were 120 post was 25 so 145 in total but when it arrived here in the UK I had to go to the post depot and pick it up as I had to pay an extra 45 for import duty.....so that kit I buy at 200 would become near enough 400 ...that's why I am doing it this way ...all the parts are ordered now and I am 300 give or take ..so I save 100 ..

Also bud that 365 x torq that I rebuilt was fine when it was rebuilt ....not an air leak that caused the original issue ...it was after I rebuilt it and ran 3 tanks through it and I opened it back up to inspect the crank and see if it was a 372xp top end ..which it was ..I then put it back together and hey prseto an air leak..honestly I tried a new intake boot , a new flange and still it was there ..so I converted it to old school non x torq big bore , and it was gone ...I am very angry at myself for messing about with it again, I should never have opened it back up ...lesson learned...but its a beast now and a big difference from the x torq it was ...plenty of power ..

When they run lean .. they run mean.... Lean is fast BUT prone to seize. My IT 250 Yamaha was a legend at that.... Ran like a scalded cat in the jumps , turns etc....but guaranteed to seize on a long straight. Air leaks are a killer. All the saws I have worked on that have seized have been because of straight fuel or air leak/lean condition.

Great info Richard. As a rule of thumb I generally try and use the shortest bar possible for the job required. I also find after a few hours of work the shorter bar helps with fatigue. Hi Richard, thanks for the review. I just bought the Shindaiwa version (same saw, basically). What's the Sugi Hara model for the bar you bought? Did you stick with a .325 / 1.5mm (0.058) gauge? Funny, you and I were on the same path wanting either a MS261, 550XP or 501SX. I was lucky to find the Shindaiwa 501SX on run-out very cheap here in Australia. It was exactly half the cost of a MS261 or a 550XP. Came with a 18" bar. I already put a full chisel Stihl chain on it but wouldn't mind getting a shorter 15 or 16" bar for most of my work. I'm struggling to confirm the exact bar mount type. Cheers. P.S. this saw is putting a smile on my face. There is something really special about it. The power to weight and balance is perfect. I'd say it's the perfect saw (for me and my uses).

@@richardsneddon2976 Why is the 621 heavier by 0.1 kg and less power by 0.1 hp, lower maximum speed and lower consumption of 1.81 l/h instead of 2.05? I think the 621 is slightly strangled to meet European emissions standards. Most likely, screw H of the carburetor is slightly tightened and there is a catalyst in the muffler. In my country there are both models, and I realized that it is better to buy the 620sx, especially since it is 50% cheaper than the ms362, 562xp and 372xp and only 10% more expensive than the 501sx.

The earlier stihls just before the m tronic saws were solid saws and probably some of the best saws ever made . The echos are like them I think and I honestly believe having had a ms240 a husqvarna 346xp and 550xp that the 501sx is one of if not the best 50cc saw ever made when you take into reliability, weight and the muffler mod is so easy to do then power as well. By far my favourite saw . I recently did a cylinder and piston on the second one I have , bought it really cheap and it had a lot of heavy use , the piston had some light scoring on it and it still ran well . The parts unfortunately is there only downfall as there is not an aftermarket parts selection like stihl and husqvarna other than that buy with confidence as long as it has a magnesium crankcase or an sx pro model and you will not be disappointed. Wait until you get 10 tanks of fuel through it then tune it up a little as out the box they are always pig rich

Every saw needs run in time not just echo saws . The 4310 or 501 are way better than the 4510 as its plastic. My 501 was used for nearly 4 years before I tuned it and it ran fine . Echo saws are held back a bit out of the box and the pro series ones I.e 4310sx , 501sx , 621sx are all pro saws with magnesium crankcase any one of those saws ran the way they come out the box are fine and they don't need to be tuned , only if you want the full potential of it that's all . Keeping them as they are with the proper fuel mix they will last for years . I have 4 echo saws and never had any issues with any of them . Top tip use echo power blend gold 2 stroke oil at 45"1 not 50'1

I then removed the restrictor from the exhaust which is very easy to do on that machine but wait for at least 10 tanks of fuel and re tuned it again to 12500rpm because when you remove the restrictor the rpm jumps up again. And again completely a different saw, better throttle response more torque, more power and getting the heat away quicker . I would now say it would run a 20 inch bar easily. Hi there you should watch my vids on my 501sx saws which I have 2 of them . I use 4 echo saws 4310sx 2 x 501sx and a 621sx . My favourite saw is my 501sx . A muffler mod on it take 5 minutes to do but you must tune it straight after as it will go lean , the 501 once modded will comfortably run a 20 inch bar as long as you use 50 gauge and Oregon speedcut chain. I had a 550xp for 5 years which I bought brand new and 2 weeks after I bought a 501sx nearly new . 5 years later the 550xp only had around 10 tanks on it and the 501sx had over 100 tanks on it . What does that tell you . The 4310 sx is a great little saw but max 18inch bar and that would be at a push and not all the time . I use a 13 inch bar on my one but it runs really well with a 15 inch . It is truly a great little saw but the 501sx is more powerful and a better all rounder .

Also as well bud have a look on KZbin at the amount of husqvarna 5 series saws with problems. They are great when running but when issues happen it can get very expensive. If you can get one cheap the echo 590 Timberwolf is also a great saw way better than the 460 rancher or stihl 291 . And both the 4310 and 501 don't have carb limiters and require a small d tune tool

@@richardsneddon2976 many thanks for your reply. I think it's a classic case of lured in by the orange casing opposed to actually thinking about what's better! Much appreciated. Best wishes .

@@andrewhughes8809 heres something to remember bud . It's not the current saws that got husqvarna and stihl there name. It's the older ones. Whatever you decide on make sure the one you get has a magnesium crankcase. If you can get one the shindaiwa 452s is a 45cc version of the echo 501sx . Echo 4910 is a budget 501sx but not available in Europe I think.

I bought a couple of peter storm jackets from go outdoors recently on offer and i got three different types for £100 and they are all really good. The skinny windcheater style one is surprisingly effective with a hoodie jumper underneath. Admittedly the name transfer has come off in the wash but I've worn it nearly everyday for the last few months. And it's definitely rainproof. One of the other jackets looks like a stone island jacket in mustard with a fleece hood and that thing is toasty and looks smart.

Also a fleece hoodie will not be rainproof.

Hi there, thank you for your comment. The BÆRSkin Hoodie is reasonably weatherproof - that means you get protection from wind and damp weather. Hope to see you in our online store! Best,

Knockoff ?? Knockoff of what ? Did you actually watch this video . My wife bought it from the official baerskin web page , we complained and was given a 40% refund it even took nearly 8 weeks to arrive as for fleece hoodie not being waterproof or rain proof yes I know but if you seen the first ads for this around 2 years ago you would know they advertised it as that . I also have a few reviews on the v2 and v3 hoodie and they are much improved but the first was absolute rubbish

Hey Richard. Thanks for the honesty in your review. So sick of buying stuff like this and being ripped off as it's not cheap stuff.
