What was the average speed?
@BigBattery
@BigBattery 4 күн бұрын
Hi, thanks for your question. We were averaging around 18 - 22 mph throughout the range test. Typically, stock golf carts see top speeds between 15 - 20 mph, so we wanted to make sure we stayed around that range in order to see a true comparison of the range benefits of switching to lithium. Feel free to check out our 48V HUSKY 2 kits right here (bigbattery.com/golf-carts/) and give us a call at (818) 280-3091 if you have any questions!

How would this work on a food trailer?
@BigBattery
@BigBattery 4 күн бұрын
Hi, thanks for your question. These systems would be installed and operated very similarly in a truck or tow-behind trailer. As long as your trailer's battery compartment is large enough to support the installation of your desired lithium system, you would simply be replacing the auxiliary power system with your new BigBattery set up, similar to what you see in the video. We have a wide range of kits at different capacities and voltages so however big or small your system needs to be, we can set you up with a tailored solution specifically for your trailer. Feel free to give us a call at (818) 280-3091, or send us an email at [email protected], and a member of our team here can discuss your current set up in-depth and offer a personalized recommendation for you!

Dont buy these inverters. They are faulty. There PCBs are low quality, they are unsafe, under perform and even fry themselves out causing damage to your high availability systems. Manufacture gets around this by requiring their customers to send the known defective units back to their warehouse at the customer’s expense and relying on statistics that show customer rather spend that money on a 3rd party product instead. Therefore shows successfully business when in fact its clearly fraud. Stay Away. These are one time use products and not meant for reliability nor offgrid deployment

My tractor has the blocks/housing that has the latch in the housing. the spades do not have a tab/tangs that flips up to hook into are onto the housing. Where can I find this type of housing and what is it called , my spades have a little hole in the center when you slide it in, the housing clip catches it. My spades and wiring are good but the housing is old and crumbling apart---just need to know where to get this type of male to female housing with built in latch for 2 pin spade and the same for a 3 pin spade

Hi Curt, thanks for your question! Unfortunately, lead-acid meters won't read accurately for lithium batteries. We always recommend using the capacity meter that comes with our battery kits since these meters have been specifically calibrated for our batteries' chemistry and voltage curve.

@@BigBattery I have SunPower panels. They all have mini inverters. That means that the power coming from my roof is AC. I am asking how your inverter deals with incoming AC.? It seems to me that it would need to be converted back to DC to charge ethos batteries. Then back to AC to power my home and the grid. I would lose some power in all 3 conversions. Please tell me if I’m wrong. Or tell me of an advantage that I am not seeing. I live in the southern ca high desert and air conditioning is a top priority I’m slowly changing out all propane equipment for heat pump or electric when heat pump is not available. I like your ethos battery backup mostly because I can start with 3 bricks and add on when needed. I like the small jump in storage at a reasonable price. Powerwalls cost a lot more if you need more than one but 2 is over kill.
@BigBattery
@BigBattery Ай бұрын
@@Skookman Thanks for the clarification! We hear you about the hassle and cost of upgrading your power when it comes to other single-unit options. The stackable, expandable design of the ETHOS is a great for an initial home system. To your question, the 12K Lux inverter(s) that's paired with our ETHOS Systems can absolutely handle any incoming AC power from your panels. These inverters feature both a standard grid connection port, as well as a second port specifically for external AC sources such as a generator or your solar panels. In regards to power loss during conversion, there will always be some nominal amount of loss during transfer for every inverter on the market, but with high efficiency conversion and fast transfer times, that loss becomes negligible. The 12K inverter we offer has a transfer time of 20 ms or less, with 95% - 99.9% efficiency so you shouldn't experience any noticeable loss of power between conversions. Plus, these inverters allow you to set timeframes where your solar panels are feeding directly to your home appliances, bypassing the battery and reducing conversion steps. Feel free to give us a call at (818) 280-3091, or send us an email to [email protected], and one of our team members here can go over your current system in-depth and offer a personalized recommendation for your power needs!

@BigBattery
@BigBattery Ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for your question! You absolutely can. There should be no issue with leaving the batteries on when not in use. While shutting them down overnight can prevent self-discharging, this discharge rate is very nominal and shouldn't be noticeable when returning in the morning. Plus, our HUSKY 2s feature a Standby Mode, so if they don't detect a current after a while, they enter Standby and reactivate once a current is detected. Feel free to give us a call at (818) 280-3091 if you have any additional questions. Thanks!

So this is like for when your power goes out? How long would a battery last on a 2 story house?
@BigBattery
@BigBattery Ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for your question! Many of our customers do use the ETHOS for emergency backup power. However, some homeowners also use the ETHOS to offset the cost of their monthly electric bill, and some even get rewarded each month by giving excess power back to the grid through incentive programs and tax credits, covering the total cost of their system in as little as 2 years! Some serious power enthusiasts have even taken their entire home off-grid with our ETHOS Systems. Generally, our base 10.2kWh ETHOS System can support the average 2 - 3 bedroom for a day should the power go out, but if you avoid using non-essential appliances and reduce power consumption, that can improve to 2 or 3 days. Keep in mind, there are a lot factors involved in determining the size of your home's power system, but since the ETHOS is stackable and modular, you can easily expand upon your system later on as needed. Feel free to give us a call at (818) 280-3091, or send us an email to [email protected], and one of our team members here can go over your current usage and offer a personalized recommendation for your power needs! Hi Robert, At BigBattery, we're proud to source our lithium domestically from the USA, which constitutes less than 1-2% of our batteries. We use Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) technology, relying on abundant and locally accessible elements like iron and phosphate. When your battery reaches the end of its long lifespan (15-21 years), we offer free recycling services to ensure environmentally responsible disposal. Excitingly, within the next two years, we plan to introduce Sodium-ion batteries, predominantly made from table salt, carbon, iron, and phosphorus. Our commitment to sustainability means we avoid conflict materials, focus on local resources, and design our batteries for easy repair and recycling. Thank you for engaging with us!

Why do people still think batteries are cleaner??? They're not.
@MrNickp2300

Nothing is without flaw. Batteries arent a perfect solution, as they are today, but battery technology advanced as demand and funding increases. Like all advancements in technology. Our current dominant sources of energy have had their chance to reinvest in their own efficiency and have failed. Gasoline is still only 35% efficient Coal is only 40% efficient Natural gas is less than 30% efficient There is plenty of room to extract more energy and produce better engines But they havent So now a new form of competition has emerged, and yeah its environmental promises are effectively lies, because the type of pollution is different, green house emissions are lower, but water pollution and other hazardous toxins are byproducts. But even that will change over time Short term, yeah its trading bad for different bad Long term, it is a net benefit for the environment and economics

Someone eliminates reliance on the grid, avoids peak energy charges, stores power to prevent a blackout, and can sell energy back to the grid… Yet you have something negative to say?
@EricLundgrenCEO
@EricLundgrenCEO 2 ай бұрын
With all due respect Lunchbox90, LFP batteries are indeed cleaner and better for the environment than NMC batteries. They use abundant, locally sourced materials in the USA, avoiding harmful heavy metals like cobalt, which is often mined in conflict zones with severe human rights abuses. LFP batteries also have a longer lifespan of up to 6,000 cycles compared to 4,000 for NMC and are fully recyclable, significantly reducing environmental impact and reliance on conflict minerals. Additionally, using solar and LFP batteries is a more environmentally friendly solution compared to power companies burning coal or natural gas in Peaker power plants. Nature has been powered by a massive fusion reactor 93 million miles away from earth long before we got here.. We prefer harnessing that energy for mankind. Thank you for your input.

Hi, thanks for your question. @@BigBattery the inspectors in Canada are very strict with the code. To them 2/0 is 2/0. Also when connecting 2 1/0 may equal more capability than a single 2/0 are you not adding more points of connection that increase the probability for a fail connection. If the length and resistance of each cable are not equal then one cable is goi g to carry more current than the other and be working hard for the decades of expected use. Why not simply use 2/0. Polarwire makes some amazing wires than can be built to perfect spec. Also they are American and not some Chinese off brand. This is why Schneider inverters and PDPS use them.
