If you're afraid of getting wet, maybe you don't need a boat.

I have a 2021 bass buggy 18DLX. Do you have an enclosure and how much will it cost me?

You’d never catch me in a “fishing” boat with caroeted floors and gunnels. You might as well call it Legend Bananas

Hello McKessa…I don’t know how Legend could get that reputation because Legend doesn’t choose the motors. Here at Anstruther, we don’t rig a boat until it’s sold because we need to know the the level of power…and this is entirely up to the buyer. There is always a conversation about intended use/budget and the buyer is given a range of options. In this case, the 16XTE offers a choice up to a 90 elpt but, the buyer may choose as low as a 40 elpt. This doesn’t mean that the 40 is the ‘ideal’ choice or even the most common, it simply means that the boat shouldn’t have less than that. The current trend is that most people will choose a 60 or 90 for this model but it entirely depends on their intended use. A young family who may plan to do watersports will want more power whereas a couple who is entirely focussed on ‘fishing only’, may not see the need. While Legend gives a range and a recommendation of the most popular choice, every buyer has reasons for their choice and it is absolutely the buyer’s choice, not Legend’s. In the past few years, we have noticed a trend, the ‘average power/HP’ a buyer has chosen has increased… depending on the model, a 90 or 115 are now the norm for buyers for 16-18ft boats, and a 150 is no longer a rare choice for larger models that will take a 150…that’s absolutely not under powered.

@@anstruthermarina394 Back in 2008 I bought a 15 foot Legend Angler with a 30hp Merc outboard. This boat would not plane out with more then 2 people in the boat. Because you can't test drive boats it's up to the sales person to ask certain questions, how many people will you be taking out in this boat? Then say something likeI would recommend the 50hp. I got so sick of the poof performance that I reinforced the transom and installed a 60hp Mercury. Now the boat drives like it should with occupants in it. You guys need to speak up.
