This is also a good example on why being the bigger person can be a bad idea. Everyone but the op got what they wanted. The parent got a cute grand kid and the brother and fiance got to be the happy couple. Meanwhile op got a ton of emotional damage and his support system harassing him because of "family" so everyone can pretend the past didn't happen.

If you're ever in this situation audio record your confrontation. Getting her to admit cheating on audio should clear you of any slander shes almost guaranteed to use against you. Publicly admitting cheating to her close family will often lead to being cut off for the family, and also hurt her chances on another good man taking her seriously. Protect yourself and your reputation, it's bad enough they cheated on you don't let it ruin you

I dont get it. You were getting married, she cheated, and you called off the marriage. What is there for you to feel guilty about? It doesn't matter how announced it was over. It's over. She messed up, and her family came at you to pay for your part of the wedding. Let them take you court. I would love to see what BS attorney could explain how you are responsible for any payments.

Women are all about their reputation even when in the wrong. If he did not send out that message she was almost certainly going to paint him as the villain. It happens way too often when guys don't get out ahead of the fallout. When you confront her you need to audio record it to prove her admittance of guilt. If she tries to slander you too far you release the recording. In fact I would take it one step further. Force her to openly admit it on social media or you will release the recording. It may sound like overkill but it's going to be necessary more often than not.

Why can't Greg pay for her college? Presumably he can downsize, gets half of the house, has less expenses, etc.? Doesn't she have two sets of grandparents and extended family to draw on? Heck, doesn't she have a bio-mom somewhere? Can't he take out loans, sell his car, get scholarships, cash in his 401k, etc.? He, his ex, and both family's can't get pay for a year or two when he's fresh out of a divorce and major assets will be liquidized? She can't work, delay college a year or two? Her grandparents can't take out a second mortgage in return for no inheritance?

The husband was a total jerk. He completely ignored his wife's attempt to build a closer relationship in their marriage. He has emotionally abandoned his wife. She should have divorced him instead of cheating. The husband chose to put his work ahead of his wife. He got the promotion HE WANTED and devoted his life to exploiting it. It does not appear they need ed the money with both of them working.
