Glad as I have always been a casual skier and as an instructor teach the same. See a lot of people trying to ski like these her e and end up even to and including the worst ever out comes. So people, your on a shared slope and not a closed course slow down observe the trail color codes and obey those codes...please ! To many people are getting hurt big time ...

Glaciers are a bad argument. There are maybe only 20 resorts that have a glacier in Europe and the cost of operating a glacier is huge. That is why a summer ski pass on 2 lifts is often as expensive as a winter ski pass on the whole resort. They stay open mostly for athletes.

Yes, you should have mentioned Stauffenberg at Taos. Just getting there from the high traverse is pretty hairy. Also, Upper Inferno at Taos has Volkswagen size moguls which then lead to trees with a 40° pitch with significant bumps

Glad you mentioned it. Stauffenberg I grew up skiing and it may not be the most difficult in the world but it’s equal to some of these on the list, for sure.

We are not corporate capitalist pigs like you, thats why we say no to you Ps the ski season in europe is not as long as you think, no one here was skiing or snowboarding un july or august but i know of a reaort in the usa that was open 10 months last season and was the first to open in the world this season. So talk less out of your ass maybe?

It always depends on the conditions! If there’s snow, I’m good anywhere… if it’s icy fast and hard to control with changing snow, Its way scarier!! Canada is full of gnarly terrain!! 🤘 Can’t wait to get back to the mountains!

Rambo is so overrated. It’s the steepest “human made” run. Not the steepest run. There are steeper runs even at crested butte, they just don’t involve someone cutting down trees.

Is McConkeys actually a run? I guess so, but very rarely is it skiable and when it is, you don't actually make turns on it. Not without being extremely willing to blow out an edge or worse. So many other lines at Palisades that should be on this list, but it wouldn't leave much room for the other mountains to be included. IMHO. :)

2:17- And this is why so many of these runs are barely skiable-- snowboarders going down like this, pushing all the fresh pow off the run instead of making turns. Leaves nothing but the icy crust under it. Learn to turn or stay off these runs! 🙄

Gauthier at Arapahoe Basin. Its like Rambo but extremely narrow. Imagine skiing through the trees but the trail is 14 foot wide containing random exposed roots and bolders, the extreme left side is a 500 foot sheer cliff, barely any snow coverage, i never seen powder, ice drops and you cannot string together more than single turns and latteral hops and the reward for all of this is you get to hike out at the bottom. It does have going for it that its a mercifully short run and is hilarious the ridiculousness of it in the moment especially if you lure friends into it blind. The biggest difference between Gauthier and the other trails listed in this video is that its not even fun. I cannot fathom how long it would take to be rescued if you were to survive loosing a ski given this trails remote location from the resort and extremely narrow workable area covered in obsticles and trash everywhere.

When you allow companies to become private monopolies this is the results. European resorts are much more competitve markets than the American ones. Not just in the ownership of the ski lifts but also the restaurants and the accommodation. Also they have been developed to be an organic part of the nearby communities instead of a disneyland part resort that control everything.
