If not for the Spitfire and the men and women who flew them, Hitler would've conquered Great Britain. The British were the only ones to stop his advance. He was, of course, furious. Keep 'em flying!

Carolyn Grace who after her husband was tragically killed in a car accident went on to fly and maintain the Spitfire and take so many people up most of whom otherwise would never get the joy of flying in the best WW II fighter. What a wonderful lady, may she continue for many years to come.

she chose to be devastatingly rude to an elderly friend of mine for absolutely no reason whatsoever so I shall remember her for the post-menopausal, Antipodean skank that she undoubtedly was.

This woman can be very nasty indeed. A few years back (over 10) a friend of mine sent her a very polite letter enquiring about getting an elderly relative with a strong connection to the Spitfire a flight in her twin. Well, the reply my friend got back was utterly rude, patronising and disgusting. I'm going to get a copy of the reply and put it in every youtube video featuring her until she offers a full apology.

I thought that was a nice touch, especially considering the Hurry was a better workhorse. Ö¿Ö

Imagine putting your blood, sweat, tears and brilliance into creating the engineering magnum opus of your life, then dying shortly before it goes on to save the world. Had it not been for this man, the world would likely have been a very, very different place. Thank you, R.J. Mitchell.

I am so angry with the clowns presiding over this debacle I cannot put my feelings into words. Hancock should withdraw his entry and explain how he could miss the criteria set down for a design three times lifesize. Someone should doorstep this guy nick hancock design studio,17 ovanna mews, 19a buckingham road, london, n1 4ey and find out why he submitted a design which didn't fit the spec.

@eastleighvoice I also wonder how this whole competition fits into the European rules of procurement.
@QuantumStep13 жыл бұрын
@eastleighvoice Why is Nick not talking about this? Well he is the guy that included £200,000 of professional fees in his budget despite the competition stipulating that there would be no financial reward to the winner.
