Strongly disagree with Mine - the Miner Mole and the Mine are the strongest green cards in the game IMO. Stones are the hardest resource to get in the game, bar none - there is no way to get more than one stone at once, unlike all of the other resources. Also cheats out the Miner Mole, which is incredibly flexible, cheap, and can copy the strongest greens in the game.

Thanks for the comment. Love hearing that you disagree with me on the Mine being weak. I love the Miner Mole and do agree that it can be super powerful in copying green cards in other cities. I guess having played Everdell 250 times I've found other ways to get around building the Mine in order to produce pebbles. I also agree that gaining pebbles is one of the hardest thing to do in Everdell since there is only 1 location to get them. But to me that's where the fun comes in. Figuring out the puzzle of how to gain specific resources in unique ways! Thanks again for the comment. I love the conversation.

Historian not being mentioned is crazy - it's probably one of the strongest cards in Everdell, especially when used in combination with Crane/Innkeeper gives so many free cards and opens up choices throughout the game.

Also notable is that the Clock Tower is underrated - if Ranger is a top 5 card for creating an additional worker, then Clock Tower if used in the beginning can produce 3 additional workers.

Thanks for the comment! I love hearing which cards other people love in Everdell. I do agree that the Historian is a powerful card and that it does open up opportunities for players to explore. I just dont't find myself building it all that often. To add to your point about the Clock Tower being underrated, it's a great card and when you can get the Historian for free that's just the cherry on top. I will say that having the ability to reactivate your workers is great I don't fully see it as a Ranger because the workers are limited to basic and forest locations whereas with the Ranger you can move a work to any location like events, the journey, destination cards etc. So yes it brings in more resources but you're limited to where you put your workers in the first place.

I tried out Wingspan in 2024 and have been having a blast with it! I'm like Nicole, though, I don't win often, but that does not tarnish my enjoyment of the game whatsoever! Next time, I'll win, next time!! Also recently got the Mistwood expansion to Everdell, so I can play solo, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Maybe a 2025 fave? :D Thanks to you guys and TheOps for the giveaway! These have been on my list of 'ooooh, these look good" since you guys spoke about it on this channel!

Several "great" games came out this past year. Unfortunately, there are still so many my game group has that we have yet to get to the table. Of those I HAVE gotten to the table, I would say HARMONIES. It plays great both in a group setting or solo.

Definitely love all 3 games - flip 7 never fails to be a hit I think my favorite game of the year is deliverance. The recent expansion kickstarter got us back in the base game and I’ve taught it to a lot of people since! Honorable mention heat: pedal to the metal - I didn’t get to play it as often as id like but when I did , it was a great time

You're very welcome! I will say that it is a challenge! I will suggest that we found playing the non cooperative mode a handful of times got us used to the cards and you can then start formulating your plans each chapter with certain cards in mind. Let us know how it goes!

Great video. I backed with the oversized cards. I too have some ocd with overlapping and covering spots on the board. I'm going to give them a go playing only the base game as I've not played Everdell in a lomg time. I do remember really liking this game and how quick it plays. I definitely had a really hard time reading the cards in their original form. The oversized cards will probably be rhe way to go for me. I play on a Gametopper Holmes sized table. Cheers 🍻

Loved the video! I like the undertaker especially later in the game when the meadow is full of production cards that I don’t want and there’s at least one card I know I need in there. Or you can discard meadow cards that you can then pull from the pile with cemetery on the following turn. Also, must be nice playing with someone who hates events, you never have to fight for them 😂

We’ve played a lot of Exit games, and love them, but we found this one was a bit convoluted. Having answers dependant on getting other answers correct when there are multiple ways to interpret what the answer could be was a bit frustrating. Still fun, but not as fun as the others we’ve played.

Two standout games from 2024: Botanicus and Star Tycoon. There were a lot of great games in 2024. Aqua being one of them. I thought I might like it and your recommendation motivated me to get it and I'm glad I did.

I think this is the only Exit game with an actual inventory system, which is really neat. I hope they find the opportunity to use it again at some point.

I finished this the other day, and found it to be a bit of a slog. Of course, I think most of that could be attributed to starting it at 11pm and my partner almost falling asleep during the middle of it. I think the only parts I have to complain about the game itself are the second part of the alarm system where I didn't feel it was very clear about the grid, and the last riddle where I kept on not getting it because the game wasn't clear about which side of the cards you were supposed to place the car on.

This is a great game! I think it is a much better bang for your buck over the original game too. More variability per player count and a few expansion features folded into this one box where the original requires you buy expansions.

I will say that I have a had to play it since I recorded my unboxing and I can agree that it does have a lot of content in the box. Excited to play it more in the future!
