I can get in those times how hard it is to believe they were broke but now it's completely understandable, music labels tend to get the biggest check and the artists just get some coins if any, also they have such bad deals and many are forced to follow every of their orders like robots, that's why nowadays many artists actively choose to be independent rather than sell their souls.

If i didnt know it Lisa was going through a spiritual transformation then. Notice, that she stayed quit until she was forced to speak. Even today the record labels have control over the internet and with streaming services. There is a lot of blockage for new up-and-coming artists that have talent but will never be heard because of these record labels monopolizing the streaming platforms.
