Hey Janks, got a Mr Gasket on my 393 clevo. Removed the butterflies and meshed the inlet. Here's a vid with the scoop setup on mine. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJmUg3d8edqXgK8. Thought about a similar filter mod at the front of the inlet but, if you use a taller high flow K&N internal filter with a slight modification to the top of the scoop, you get great flow and you don't miss out on the rammed air these scoops are meant to encourage. I've drilled the top of mine directly over the carb stud so a taller filter can be installed on the inside. Drilling the top with a 10mm hole saw directly over the carb stud, means you can fit a filter tall enough to go right to the ceiling of the scoop on the inside, but still allows you to get the stud nut onto the stud and tightened down, from the outside (at the top) of the scoop. I do love the paint work of your scoop in the video. Looks bloody awesome.

The secondary is going in the same direction, where it should be a mirror like a primary/secondary relationship on most four barrels. Somebody couldn't work out how to make 1:1 the easy way. The main venturis are the same diameter as a 7448, which is 1 3/16. The annular booster makes it look smaller.

Comparing open chamber to closed chamber, regardless of material, is still apples to oranges. Even an iron closed chamber makes more power than an iron open chamber. The biggest gain from aluminum is you can run higher compression and they come ported.
@69JANKSАй бұрын
@@stevenmitchell6347 it’s a good comparison considering what data is out there. Yes iron closed chambers are the way to go, but still no match against a good aftermarket “2V” style head. It’s not only about being aluminium or they come ported?, it’s 2V based as in Cleveland architecture but the whole port design is different/revised both intake & exhst also the Chamber….. designed for making easy & more power overall in every way🏁

G'day this brings back memories big time of my childhood I am currently 51 years old. Back when I was 14 or 15 years of age my brother then aged 18 or 19 built a Ford Capri just like yours even the colour looks the same, he put a 351 Cleveland in the Capri with a bigger cam and 650 double pumper carby. I never forget the day I came home from school with my friend while my brother was still at work, I started the Capri up in the garage and reverse it onto the driveway and done my first burnout in it. I tried to clean the burnout marks but my brother ask me did you do that and I didn't lie I said yeah I did a little burnout in front of my friend. Actually it might have been my second burnout ever at that age. Great memories

Did come up pretty good mate. I have some acid baths at home for stripping mill scale from rolled metals etc. Just acetic acid (stronger version of vinegar) which works really well in these types of scenarios. I recon if you'd pulled them and hit them with a high pressure pump hose you'd have blasted that flash rust off the pedestals and other areas completely. Then coat it with a bit of kero/fishoil (WD40) or the like to stave off any new flash rust. But a great result you got there man for a good price!

@@Doctoradhd1 right on Doc-adhd👍🏼, this here was just a low potent budget clean, but yes your right there’s probably stronger & better ways to clean. I think if I’d even just detergent washed n scrubbed it afterwards, gurney blasted it it would of got rid of that residue👌🏼 Thanks for tuning in👍🏼🏁

Nice one man. What were the results? I would have thought the baking powder and the vinegar would have cancelled each other out. Any pitting on the machined surfaces after the soak? Is that a Pavtek head in your thumbnail pic? Or is that a port job you did on the heads after your rust cleanup?
