Hi there I have a set of Aussie 2 v heads what do I stay away from when doing a mild porting I notice in the intake side there is a ridge about 1/4 way down like a ledge should I smooth it
@69JANKS
@69JANKS 6 күн бұрын
@@roberthirshfield3571 yes smooth out any ridge or cast dags. Keep it simple & conservative you can’t go wrong.. mild bowl work , valve guide boss, careful on the short turn & throat area. 2Vs like port work from the entry to 3/4’s in blended…..basically an enlarged port working its way towards the bowl (like a taper) , match port the intake. 👍🏼🏁

My dad has a 406 sbc 6-71 blower on it and he built it years ago and now he has dementia so he can't really help with what's wrong but I'm hoping someone can..so when you start it up and let it run low rpm you hear a sound coming from what sounds like the top (somewhere in the blower or just below) but when you give it gas and raise the rpms the sound goes away. It's not getting drowned out either it goes away entirely. But you come back down to an idle on rpms and boom you hear it again. Best way I can explain the sound is something that sounds kinda like a cranky sound. Metallic sounding as well. Any ideas? A friend suggest I take off the belt and start it to see if the sound persists because if the belt is off the blower and the sound is still happening it's not in the blower. So I still need to try that. I'm just really nervous to get into this because it's my dad's pride and joy and I'd hate to be the one to fuck things up more. But we have no choice we work on our cars always have so I'd like to keep that up. So once I feel confident I WILL be going at that car with everything in me

Great content, as always!! Over here in the USA, fuel is now sh*t, corrosive and limited shelf life as far as volatility!! I let my '71 Demon hot rod sit for 8-9 months and it wouldn't start. Had pump discharge and spark at the plugs. Poured some lawn mower gas in the carb and it fired right up, then stalled. Took the 2nd. cell outlet plug out and drained a sample. Poured it on a concrete driveway and it wouldn't light-off with a match!! This was 10+yrs ago. I drained the cell, put fresh pump in, and away I went. Criminal!!

I found a NOS Man A Fre intake for a 292 inline 6 Chevy and 3 1957 Pontiac large bore Rochester's ,On the Dyno It made 363 HP and that's with one bad carb ! Then we put the dual quad system on with two Holley 450s and made 377HP . So the 3 Rochester's are out getting totally built and set up for my application. The throttle response was instant ! Took me weeks to get the Holley's tuned right , But I think the Man A Fre with correct carburetor's has way more power when all are in Sync. Here's mine on the dyno. @@69JANKS The way you cut through the BS and present the essential facts about real world components is what separates you from the average KZbin pretenders. If I had something worthwhile to put your unique intake manifold on, I would be asking you HOW MUCH $. Unfortunately I only have one pair of conventional 2-V iron OC heads at the moment and that inlet manifold deserves a much better home. I would imagine that manifold would work well with a pair of 🇦🇺 2-V heads or something expensive in small port aluminum. I assume it’s designed for a 9.2” deck block 🤔.
