I think there is a small gap between 0.5 open and 1 closed .I think 0.5 open is a little bigger than 1 closed ..so if you are fading after 0.5 open you need to continue with 1 guard slightly open

Help, what can I do if I haven't seen the video and time has passed and my blade is damaged, what can I do?
@cjjonez20 күн бұрын
you are going to hurt someone. No doubt you didn't pay attention in class in barber school. there is no way a master barber instructor taught you that. go get your book, learn your strokes. your intentions are good. but like the saying says, the road to hell is lined with good attention. that's just not right at all.

Lock in closed position. Loosen screws, invert clippers, lightly press blade tips onto a hard flat surface. Make sure the blade points straight up and down (90° from your flat surface). Tighten screws. Perfect every time. It ain't rocket science!

I got a question, if I test it on my hand and start getting a little cut and a little blood comes out is that okay or does that mean it’s to close? Please I need help
@MikeWillBlendItАй бұрын
Yes it’s too close, you never want to leave cuts on yourself or anyone else

The older Wahl Clippers align themselves. Perhaps the newest ones are not made in the U.S. I bought a new one and the white plastic thing inside is canted, very diffficult to align blades properly. My 10 year old one like I said aligns itself!!

You didn't even mention the red guard shown in the video thumbnail?
@MikeWillBlendIt2 ай бұрын
It’s a blade guard used for protection. It’s not use for cutting hair.

I love the shadow fades. One reason I like them because they aren't popular. Makes it feel more unique.

This just changed everything. Changed my whole fading. I never understood the difference between open and a 0 guard closed. It’s the same and that makes sense. I appreciate this

Thanks. Rather than eyeing how they line up to get them aligned you can do what I just did an hour ago. Loosen the steel blade and then turn the clippers upside down and rest the tips of both blades on a flat surface like a kitchen counter. That way they'll line up exactly. And then you can tighten the screws.

Great video, broke it down nicely. I've been cutting hair since '91 but never owned a straight edge razor, so even I have to start from the basics. I'll definitely be using these techniques on myself, thank you. Oh and that beat slap!
