I had it but lost it. Used it as daily pocket knife. Opening packages, cutting apples. I bouth it since it is so flat. The only think I did not like was the clip. The end is to edgy feels sharp and it catches/scrataches when you slid your hip on something. I wanted to buy some flipper - deejo is 2 handed, little hard to open with one hand - but all of them seems to be to thick for me :D Somebody has any recomendations?

Thank you for posting that review. I thought that ice was an excellent test of it. Because that would be like hitting bone. And then I'm going to slam and get into the log showed how tough it really is. Too many hit soft items like even a watermelon is not that hard to break but the ice in the log definitely show off its strength

This is such a cool weapon. I just got mine and I’m gonna sand and stain the handle before assembling it. Mine didn’t come with instructions but it seems pretty self explanatory. I gotta ask, did you use the set screw on your’s and how did you get the screws in on the langets? I’m thinking drill the holes before screwing them in?
@NutjobwithaMachete4 ай бұрын
I did use the set screw to originally hold the head in place during assembly, but it's fallen out since then, so I guess you don't really need it 😂. I predrilled the holes on the langets and put a drop of expoy in before screwing them in place. You can also rough the back of them and put expoy back there, but it's not really necessary. I hope you like it. Let us know how it goes.

@@NutjobwithaMachete Awesome man, thanks for the reply! Before I even assembled it or anything I just slipped the hammerhead on the handle and tested it on a dead tree. It’s definitely beastly and now that dead tree is smashed in half right across the middle!

Does the stiffness of the handle extend into the lash? Wondering if the handle was cut off to make it shorter (so around 33 inches in total), would it still be effective?
@NutjobwithaMachete3 ай бұрын
I had to pull mine out of the closet, but yes, you could trim it down to that size without much issue.

Sorry for the delay, I had to find mine. The rod seems to only run a few itches past the handle, so it should still be effective if you do that.

@NutjobwithaMachete5 ай бұрын
For sure. In my case, I actually went to a pharmacy and grabbed one from there, but you can find them on Amazon and at many large box stores that sell canes or orthopedic devices (Walmart, Shoppers Drug Mart and the like). I hope that helps.

I was looking for a cane like this before it came out as I had seen Eastern European shepherd canes of this design. To “soften” the weapons look, they painted theirs bright colors or painted the ax portion like a Scottish terrier head or the pike end like a bird with its tail flared (ax end).
@NutjobwithaMachete7 ай бұрын
I rather like that. It'd help make it look more disarming.
@glynnmitchell92537 ай бұрын
I bought this cane and really loved it. But I became aware that it would perhaps give anyone an excuse to shoot me. It’s a wonderful cane though- I would still highly recommend it for walking in the woods as it would be very effective against dogs or animals if need be. It also works well for supporting your weight.

Awesome review! That is an awesome innovative self made sheth! These Cold Steel hybrid Machetes Knives/ and Swords have been found to be superior to many knifes and swords. I wonder how this CS Bowie Machete compares to the Tanto and the newer Black Bear Bowie Machete?
@NutjobwithaMachete7 ай бұрын
I haven’t had the Black Bear, but I liked this one a bit better than the tanto. I think it’s mostly the blade design, but I gifted the tanto to a friend so I can’t double check, sorry.
