I don't know but I think you need to handle the wild ones a little more gently. Don't pull them on to the beach on the rocks, keep them in the water, use a net may be.

That is a Great Blue Heron would love to choot 1 but they are protected so it would be illegal. I would use the feathers to tie streamer fly's for fishing. Last I heard you could buy the feathers up in Canada.😊
