Such an amazing wedding video. I am thinking of choosing The Howey Mansion so i’ve been watching a lot of content involving it and this video really sticks out. Made me cry. These people seem so genuine and in love.

Great video.. but looking at the gear you used.. seems excessive? The EOS R with 2 lenses and the Mavic Drone woulda done the trick?

That is simply beautiful! What a blessing to have been able to be there that day, when you and Sean took the vows that will last a lifetime. May God forever bless this marriage and the children he gives you from this union that only HE could ordain. May the peace and wisdom of God be with both of you as you go through this journey together. You are such a beautiful couple and you both deserve all God has for you and may you find all you need in God and each other. Blessings to both of you, Mr. & Mrs. Mawn!!!

Hey Allie and Joey! Thank you for your detailed response on the other video! For this video were the reception and walking out shots done with the 16-35mm f4? I just wanted to double check because those do look like wide shots and the walking out shot, although there was noise it was still usable imo. What does your guys' setup look like for the ceremony part of the video, i.e camera placement, and movement?
@AllieandJoey5 жыл бұрын
You're welcome, I love to talk gear! The reception and exit were shot with mark iv's with a 16-35 and a 24-105 at 16 and 24 respectively. The exit was the 16-35. For the most part we keep everything on monopods and tripods for the ceremony. During the precessional we rely on tripods on each side pointed at the groom (70-200 and 135) and a monopod at the end of the aisle with the 24-105. That monopod will end up at the back during the rest of the ceremony. We rarely use the ronin during ceremonies. There was a time when we used it more, but our style has changed. When it comes to the ceremony, we just want to cover everything happening the best we can and worry less about gear and artistic shots.

Hi Allie & Joey! I wanted to ask what you thought of the 16-35mm f4 IS for weddings? I am considering running a 16-35mm f4 + 50mm f1.8 setup and wanted to hear your thoughts on that or what other lenses you prefer for weddingsv
@AllieandJoey5 жыл бұрын
Hey Felipe, we're a huge fan of the 16-35mm f4. It lives on our camera. Obviously, the reason to go with the f4 would be the image stabilization which is a huge plus. I will say that if you're using something with digital image stabilization, like the EOS R or 6d mark ii, then I don't think it pairs well with the 16-35 f4 with IS turned on. I haven't fully tested this theory. However, we shot an engagement this past weekend and I feel like things got a little weird in some clips (check out our Lake Louisa State Park Engagement Video). I plan to test this out soon by turning on and off IS on the lens and body for different clips and comparing them. I think 50mm f1.8 would work great for a second lens. We've started to use the Canon 85mm 1.4 IS instead of our sigma 50mm 1.4 to get more compression and the addition of IS, which isn't as important to us for the way we use telephotos but still helpful. Our run and gun setup is the 16-35mm f4 IS and the 24-105mm F4 IS Version 2. You can't go wrong with that kind of versatility. Yes, you lose a few stops of low light capability, but you're ready for most situations. We hope this was helpful. Let us know if you have any other questions.

Very good. I am deciding between 5d mk 4 and EOS R. I’m mainly for shooting weddings. If you could only have one, which would you choose?
@felipemvera5 жыл бұрын
Hey Bryson I shot with the EOS R for a wedding a couple weeks ago, I mainly used it as a backup camera for my 6dMii and for a secondary video for the reception/ceremony. I'd say it's pretty much like a 5div/6dii hybrid as it has 4k but a large crop, and the same sensor as the 6dii with a flip screen. It also uses the same LP6 batteries. Comparing it to a 5div I think it really comes down to a couple of questions. Do you want dual card slots or a flip screen? Do you want the better sensor or lighter weight. Do you want a joy stick or touch screen af? Also consider your budget and current sales/offerings. If you only do video i'd say the EOS R, but if you do photo equally as video i'd say the 5div.
@AllieandJoey5 жыл бұрын
I would consider a few things. Felipe is right about the dual sd deal. Which I should mention I've had a few issues with my mark iv and writing to cards. Sometimes it doesnt complete writing the file to both cards which is problematic. Another consideration is ability to have an electronic viewfinder. Pretty much the only reason why I like mirrorless over a dslr is the ability to see exposure in my viewfinder. Though, until Canon releases a dual card mirrorless, our photography work will primarily remain on the Mark iv (which is our favorite dlsr on the market).

Hello.there..its a great video....love the presentation.........i just wanted to ask is did u face any auto focusing issues with sigma lens...because m planning to go for Sigma 1.4 instead canon 1.4 for video....what would u suggest???
@AllieandJoey5 жыл бұрын
Hi Satyen, yes, from our experience, I would definitely say that the Canon lenses tend to do better with the live view autofocusing. We love our Sigma's, but tend to use mostly Canon for video.
