Nice and peaceful.....almost like a ghost town.....or during the Covid Lock down
@behindbudapest8 ай бұрын
I took this video during low season, hence the ghost town feeling. During the peak season, you can't drop a pin here without hitting someone.

3 and a half minutes in and all there was is a bike path?! If the rest of the video is this bad then I didn’t miss a thing by shutting it off!
@behindbudapest8 ай бұрын
The 44 minutes long video intends to cover the entire bicycle path between Oroszlany and Banhida, not just the more 'exciting' parts. The first lake comes into view at 6:34. Hope it helps! :)

Is this in Budapest or near Budapest?
@behindbudapest11 ай бұрын
Veszprem is about 117kms to the West from Budapest. The travel time is about 1,5 hrs by car, or by train.

I was there the exact same day you filmed this. It was so odd to have walked that area the night before and the water was completely fine, and the next day I wanted to take a tram and got so confused on why the tram tunnel was flooded. Especially as it didn’t rain that night. Maybe Budapest needs some flood barriers especially for the tunnels near Saint Stephen
@behindbudapest11 ай бұрын
Could not agree more. Similar flood barrier systems to what they use in Szentendre, Nagymaros, etc. could work here as well.

It's crazy to think that just 2 weeks ago I was walking along the river wall and sitting on the bench's in front of Parliament taking pictures. The water was so low at the time.
@behindbudapest Жыл бұрын
lots of rains along the upper section of the Danube caused a rapid change in water levels. Likely in a few days, weeks things will be back to normal.

Most likely the flooding won't last for too long. The Danube peaked today at 693 cm. As per authorities, in two days, the lower embankment will be open again.
