around mine 9:00 you were taking about custom taxonomies. How about custom post types? I am setting up the archive template for 4 different places. I have 2 custom post types. I am setting this template for the blog archive, taxonomies archive, custom post type 1 archive, and custom post type 2 archive. I can't see the proper way to have the information display on each of the custom post types. Only the blog information is displayed
@nickarceco11 күн бұрын
You are going to want to use is_post_type_archive() if that’s the case. developer.wordpress.org/reference/functions/is_post_type_archive/

Great video thanks! However, if you use a Frames accordion, I don't think you need to do anything to get the rich results. I just tested mine and all the FAQ schema is showing up (I entered zero attributes). And that's great news too, because I was just getting geared up to create a custom PHP script to dynamically handle it all.

I would have liked to buy it, even for a reasonable price. But: no LTD, I'm out.
@imanol44683 ай бұрын
Yep, it's kind of expensive unless you have a way to sell it to your customers. For agencies that sell to big companies with internal teams, it can be amazing. Admin Turbo LTD is cheaper than one year of this one. Even though this looks better, Admin Turbo will handle 80% of the tasks, and I prefer it being an extension over a plugin. It's not just the non LTD, the site limits are very low on all the tiers.

Didn't know about the recipes though, that's great!! Seeing this new wave… I love the command bar since macOS Sherlock and later Butler. Now I use it in Arc.. on Wordpress it’s not unheard of entirely as well … there is Turbo Admin, now free but the developer has started working aagain so it’s a side project. Looking forward where this can go. Isn’t Wordpress itself also developing something similar?

Turbo Admin dev here. Thanks, Max. It was always a side project. It's not free, but I consider it to be stupidly good value for money. And it's a magical browser extension that works on ALL of your WordPress sites without needing a plugin to be installed. I love that there is innovation in this space. It's GREAT to see CommandUI and I can't wait to try it. It looks really slick. But from my point of view, it's just really nice to see people excited about command bars/palettes! 😃
@RossWintle3 ай бұрын
@@nickarcecosorry you didn’t like my clumsy design. I’m a developer and I don’t really do the sparkles! Perhaps this will improve at some point. As command palettes have become more common a standard aesthetic seems to have emerged, partly driven by some JavaScript libraries that do the visuals for you. Perhaps you’ll look again at some point?
@bluetheredpanda3 ай бұрын
@@RossWintle Been a user of Turbo Admin (as a browser extension) for a few years, and I love it, BUT: - I can't really use it other than for quick navigation (compared to all the things CommandUI is able to do) - I my experience it doesn't use whatever dark magic Calvin has used to make it so fast to find results - JS libs and UI kits won't replace a designer. You need someone to give a hand with sparkles for UI, but also weight in on improving UX (i.e. CommandUI’s “shortcuts” and “fuzzy typing” is _carefully considered_ to specifically offer multiple cognitive models and allow depth in learning the tool). I'd love to volunteer for that, but very busy these days. On the other hand having this available as a browser extension vs. a plugin is downright amazing when working on clients sites (or multiple sites of your own). And I love Calvin but the FOMO engineering campaign around this launch didn't feel great to me personally. Part of the reason I like command bar / line interfaces is their no frills / deeply powerful but understated nature. Honestly I wish you made Turbo Admin evolve in a similar direction to this. This is free market research. The need and opportunity are proven. Please think about it? 🙏🙏
@imanol44683 ай бұрын
@@RossWintle There are useful shortcuts, like press "E" when in the front end of a post and go directly to the Gutenberg editor, that looks very handy. I guess you could get some inspiration from those little but convenient shortcuts. A bit of marketing could be great too. It took me years to find your extension, and it's awesome. I bet you could have a lot of sales with some exposure. Anyway, good job Ross!
