By this comment i don't mean to insult any pilot, i myself love gadgets and technology, it is just an analogy, he is flying a Cessna 172 with a Garmin 1000, which by the way many Airliners don't even have and still using another navigation app, my question is do we really need all of this? what about flying? just asking your opinions...

Tnks..the only remaining problem for me is that Garmin Pilot has no European VFR charts. Most people therefore use the ap Skydemon.

Nothing is needed except the internal GPS if your device has one. The Nexus 7 does.

Do you need the GDL-39 device for standard navigation? That pretty expensive I heard.

What software you use on ur n7, where to download it?

You'll need an internet connection on the ground to download the charts you need(they're on the same cycles as the printed sectionals and A/FD) But no data is needed in flight. You can do one last download of weather before you fly if you want. If you really want in-flight weather you can buy a weather receiver for use in the plane.

Can i ask..Does garmin pilot work without mobile data? I want to get the NEXUS 7 and use it for cross countries...etc. But i have never used a tablet before in flight. I have friends who use foreflight...

Root and Rom Toolbox to change the DPI. Now not so relevant since Garmin Pilot has most of those in default mode now.

Tell the truth. It's hard to use it. Slow and uncomfortable. iPad is better but also not idial.
