Why are there so many different Startup Error Codes but the directions to fix them are all the same?

Its a issue with the disk drive thats what those codes are its not communicating. And has to for update had same issue opened it up checked connections on disk drive put it back together. It finished updating. Or the board on disk drive has a issue it self and if it does its done no easy fix. Its not a hard drive issue.

I also had the same issue. Got to the error thanks to faulty Wi-Fi that got disconnected during an update. So I connected the Xbox to the internet with the Ethernet cable rather than the Wi-Fi. I tried everything. Every single KZbin tutorial didn’t fix the issue. Sadly these Xboxes are shit. Because if these steps don’t work, then there’s a good chance that the drive is fried. Apparently a replacement drive costs about the same as this console used. So my advice would either buy another Xbox and run an Ethernet cable to it. If you can’t, just use it with the Wi-Fi, and shut off your he system and try to find an Ethernet line whenever your system prompts you for an update. As you cannot connect said system back to Wi-Fi if it gets disconnected during a system update.

Sounds like replacing the hardrive data cable might fix this. I pressed restore / delete everything at it froze on the screen - i ended up pressibgbthe xbox button on the controller and it randomly turned the console off. Will try the manual update if i get the trouble shoot screen back. Was going to sell on ebay so looks like ill loose £30 on it being faulty.

GUYS I HAVE THE SOLUTION- it’s because of the hard drive inside the xbox or the connecting data/sata cables connecting the hard drive to the motherboard. so what you need to do is buy a new internal hard drive**and this will will most likely fix it, if not, you have to get an 8 dollar sata connection cable. **and the hard drive is 80 ish bucks**

I had the exact same issue as this video , error changing from 102 to 101, however instead of downloading the hardrive on a usb flashdrive if you download the os, OSU1 it might work. Worked for me and all good, saved me a lot of money and I'm not sure why its not mentioned on the xbox help guide as an option to fix error 102.

Can it save states? Its a bit pricey if you can't save your state. You can buy cheaper on amazon with similar games on it. An extra £10 you can get a q or a V90 and you can save and add games to it, up to PlayStation one (most of them play fine).

Mine as well. Tried all isb reset, factory reset. All to no avail. Mine was working fine until i went ahead to install an update which somehow stopped abruptly during installation. Guess the update screwed up my xbox one.... still looking for solutions.....
