Great video! I love the thoroughness, that you listened to the comments in the shorter video, and that you have answered almost every comment in here! Subscribed. To be fair to the people making comments in the short video, I have taken apart and put together more computers and laptops than I can count, but have never flashed a bios chip this way. Taking it off the board and using a programmer. I would not have known how to get the file and overwrite it. I have some questions and am hoping you will reply: 1. What was the tool you used to desolder and resolder the ic chip, looked and sounded like a heat gun? I have some soldering xp, but feel this part will be the most challenging in the entire process. That chip is tiny. 2. Why did you have the main bios file in that folder, that you said you read earlier, or downloaded, not sure? That file was not used in your process. Why have it? 3. I will be buying the same programmer and attempting this on a 840 G3. Any xp with that board and bios chip, any major difference in the chip location and read/edit/write process? Thanks so much for a great video!

I used a rework station (heat gun) second question the main bios chip file I did backup on my computer teaching (knowledge) purpose and to show the difference between the EC and Main file,, so that they wouldn't be mistake.. Third question 840 G3 this procedure will definitely work on it.. only edit the EC file.. Thanks

Before you bridge a mosfet please ensure that there is no short on the board..... measure your main power rail 20v from the input of the first mosfet then output of the first.. if 20v is present,, after that measure the input of the second mosfet if 20v is present then measure the output of second mosfet if 20v I s present, there is no need of bridge... but if it's not present then you bridge from 4pins input leg to the 3pins output and be careful not to bridge the gatepin which is the last pin from the 3output pins

My file didnt look exact but I found the Active variable we were looking for and filled with FF, re installed and still have a password prompt. Do you mind helping me if I send the bin files? I don't understand how this worked, because you got the errors at Paste the code from the backup file! So technically your bin file from Hp, is not modified! What i am missing here?!?!?

Bin file from hp is not modified so what you do from the oringnal backup you made.. copy the DMI info and then put it with the file you got from HP official website

@@borvitech i have no problem with the unedited video, is ok! At the minute 33:35 sec you get the error! That means, you could not Paste the code, so there is no modification to the bin file. Than you save it, flash it. So technically you've written the one from Hp Support! I am asking, because i have the same problem and i want to fix it

If you are fine with the same way I did on the video fine.... then check the type of bin you will write hence from the website it comes with different bin.... and it will work but dmi info will be missing

I have a HP Prodesk 400 G6 i5 9500 CPU in which the Bios does not offer many options for settings. For example, I cannot configure the SSDs or configure the CPU freely. No memories of her either. other than bios chip problem, what else could possible problem of no display, because my laptop has a blown component (NB692GD-Z AYK) at the back of the motherboard. i hv replace that component and still no display. if no, i guess i hv to buy the chip reader and try to update the bios.

That's the main bios chip 32mb while the EC chip is behind the back of the processor also 32mb and that is the one you need to work on, the EC chip

That fuse is on the motherboard not the one on the screen,, take it out on another board,, if you can't get it bridge it with a thine wire

I also have the similar problem. I have the voltages present for 3.3v and 19v. I also tried shorting the bios battery terminal i dont have twizzers but using a jumper wire and a solder wire but still the same issue persist. The HP 450 G3 both power jack LED and power button on LEd lights up and switches off.

If I flash the HP new bios without pasting DMI information it can work? Old bios corrupted during update and I cant access DMI information. Laptop now blinks 5 times slow and 2 times fast on CAPS key.

It was set on 12v -3amp but I don't recommend that you can start with 2v then reduce your current to 1amp and if there are no hot component gradually increased the current. THANKS
