I want to go to a theater like this 🥲 no one even laughed at the showing I went to 😭 I think the audience was mostly old people and younger kids though 💀 unfortunately for my boyfriend having to stay quiet meant I was punching him constantly instead of cheering 😂 I still feel bad about the jab to the side I gave him when Idina and Kristen showed up 🤣

I’d definitely join these people if I had the chance to watch with them-the people in my cinema are basically mannequins.

I have been to three screenings already of the movie. And every time, the audience gave the movie a standing ovation at the end of _Defying Gravity._

My mom and I were literally the only ones to clap at the end. Just saw it today though so maybe some of the people had seen it already? Idk.

Most of these jokes were written in the musical, they aren’t new to the movie.

In Italy, we don't usually clap at the end of the movies at movie theaters; even in Harry Potter saga, whose fandom's strength is well known, I don't think we ever clapped. So it was weirdly cute clapping at the end of this, a group of people with a passion for musicals clapping enthusiastically 'cause FINALLY a musical movie that isn't afraid of being a musical Plus, it's very funny and also so sad (I cried during the ball scene)

I haven’t seen an audience react like this to a movie in a long fucking time.

I went for a second time at a random movie theatre in Florida and the whole audience burst into applause after Elphabas battle cry before the movie was even over. That’s when you KNOW you ate if you have a not live theatre bursting into applause

Thank you for this!! There should be more videos like this for highly anticipated movies, I really enjoyed this :)

I never understand the point of applauding at a movie when the people who made it aren't even there to receive it 🤔

I just saw the film at Universal Studios of all places and there wasn't that much or any clapping until the end lol
@supercyle18 күн бұрын
I saw one of the previews at universal CityWalk IMAX and the crowd was totally alive-- I loved it! Saw it a couple nights ago again in NorCal and the audience (still full!) applauded after about half the songs and at the end. I love what this movie is bringing out in people. And if no clapping, well, in high school when my friends and I loved a movie we would always start the clap, and usually the other people who loved it and were just waiting for the impetus would follow. So be the change you want to see in the world and start the clap 😂

I think it's only an American thing tbh. I think I'd find it annoying
@LOLWAAHH21 күн бұрын
@@TheLonelyGoombait’s the premier of a movie based off a musical that is one of the longest running and successful musicals on Broadway in the very city that it (the musical) premiered in. Why wouldn’t there be applause? Also I’m sorry that you’d find this annoying wherever you come from, but to assume it’s only American audiences that do this is ill informed
@TheLonelyGoomba21 күн бұрын
@LOLWAAHH only American audiences do that.
